Let me set up a hypothetical scenario here.
Let's say you've decided that you'd like to create a team to attempt to be the first to complete the new upcoming raid.
Obviously you're going to want some skilled players, what sort of skill indicators would you use? Would you just take anyone? Take any level 30s? Or would you look for some sort of indications of skill?
Within earlier periods of the game, being level 30 was a viable way of gauging someone's skill level in the game which made it easier when trying to find decently skilled players to play with.
Now that level 30 has become child's play, it's no longer possible to use it as a skill indication and as such we have to use other methods to determine a players skill level so please, don't take offence when hearing the term "Skilled level 30". I'm not saying you don't deserve it, im just using it a skill gauge.
Therefore I present to you what I look for in a SKILLED level 30:
Indications that someone is a SKILLED level 30!
1. Should have at least 10 hard mode raid completions! (This ones important, skill is grown from experience and as such having a number of raid completions is much more impressive than getting a full set of raid gear in 1 or 2 raids)
2. Must be able to solo the gatekeeper portals. (If you can't do this you need to get better. As soon as someone suggests weakening the gatekeepers first or doing one portal at a time I am immediately aware of their incompetence) Thats not to say you must solo the portals every time. The method I use is heavily dependant on the team im playing with.
3. Should have at least 5 different types of maxed weapons, with a variety of elemental damage and understand when and where each gun will outperform others in order to give themselves a situational advantage. Im sick of seeing level 30s still running nothing but suros, especially during Atheon.
Tbh that's all there is to it. I don't care if you are wearing a piece of iron banner gear, as long as you meet these requirements you'd be on my fire team.
Do you have any indications of skill that you like to look for?

3 commentairesModifié par Acidity : 11/28/2014 8:01:47 AMI've solo'd gatekeeper countless times, I suggest weakening one when I feel it's best for the team I'm in Raid with at that time. Got some grimoire or whatever it's called for 50 raid completions (which is weird because I swear I got like 45). Edit: Oh lord, I forgot I was typing on iPod, fixed typos.

9 commentairesSounds good... Except the part about soloing the gates... And having a certain number of completions. I raid with five of my friends. I've played everything from Aegis Wing to Destiny with these guys. I know them, and I know their play styles. We raid every week. Sadly, due to time constraints imposed by our respective schedules, we rarely beat Atheon and finish the session. Given enough time, we could get through it, but by the time everyone is online and settled and ready to go, we have very little time to actually play. Given that none of my friends play during the week, and that I refuse to play with randoms, my total completions are fairly low, despite the fact that I'm a more than competent player. That said, gatekeeper portals are not a legitimate test of skill. At the risk of being called a scrub, I have died more than once because my team failed in one regard or another to provide support, and I was forced to handle one or both by myself. This is an activity that is recommended to teams of six players. No part of this raid is intended to be done solo. Even the smallest team to ever do it had two people in it. I would not expect anyone to have any particular number of completions, nor to be able to do any part of the raid alone. If possible, I would prefer to take them on the weekly heroic / nightfall missions and see for myself how they play, and gauge their skill through actually watching their play style and ability to work with others.

2 commentairesOh look here I can launch 4-6 rockets from my jhorn and gatekeeper is done.... skill feels so easy....
-
I think this is a good gauge

1 commentaireA skilled level 30 can have sex while playing hard raid and still come out with a fantastic k/d. Now that is a respectable lvl 30.
-
1 commentaireAre you aware of the fact that attack is meaningless when you are lvl 30, as there are no enemies higher level than you? So maxed weapons are pointless.

5 commentairesHere's our scenario... 2 Warlocks walk into the gate, aim a pair of Gjallarhorns, both fire... BOOMMMM!!!! Gatekeeper is barely alive, the Warlocks turn, high five, one steps out the other rockets the Keeper 1 more time, in and out. No need to mess around, just be done with it before they even knew what hit them. 2nd gate, super with the shield followed by a 1-2 rockets combo, and it's literally just getting back out. We do this because we don't need 5 people outside, 4 guarding the first gate is more than enough, and then 1 guy can hold the conflux easily, and 3 can hold the second gate the 30 seconds it takes for the strike team to be in and out. And the second shield guy has a mate to cleanse him the moment he picks the shield up, not having to wait for his own charge. We play the law of averages. Enemies strong enough to take more than 1 magazine before killing two, use two people so it's 3 kills before the two reloads. It's all about speed, efficiency and teamwork, not individual skill. At least for our team. We do extremely well, our best run yet we beat Atheon in a single teleport. Not a boast but I am a little proud to be a part of a team that can pull that off. We are getting better at replicating those results again. Cheers mates!! : )

4 commentairesIt's really surprising how useless some level 30s can be. Did the raid this week and most of our team was 28, but we had one lvl 30. And in the end on the raid he had by far the least amount of kills out of all of us.
-
1 commentaireLol I'm just going to play with my friends
-
I'd say these are reasonable credentials.

17 commentairesMy only thing with this... -blam!- soloing gatekeepers. I don't care how good you think you are, I'm not letting a raid I run do it that way. Between Epilogue, Corrective Measure, and Invective. I can handle the middle alone. But what I refuse to do is see my raid attempt fail because someone wants to solo it when the easiest method is to do it one at a time, period.

+1 to all
-
I'm actually looking for a raid team for the new raid when it drops. I just want to practice with a team to get prepared for the new one and when it drops I want us in the raid first thing
-
1 commentaireI guess I meet your qualifications, but to run a hard raid you don't need 6 people that can solo the gatekeeper, only 2. The rest needs to be able to stay alive, kill praetorians, supplicants and oracles and most of all follow orders/volunteer to do a certain job and do it well without blaming others for their mistakes.
-
1 commentaireHow about communication or following directions or giving direction properly.
-
1 commentaireOne question....does your entire life revolve around this game?
-
4 commentairesIdk but all I know is a gamestop employee told me that the beginning of the raid has enemies level 30 even though it's a level 28 raid on normal when I bought gta so it would probably be smart to be level 30
-
Skilled if they dont make beginner mistakes or have a common sense when doing the raid. I've had so many face palms with lvl 30s in my group sometimes.
-
4 commentairesSo, basically if you don't have a RNG'd Gjallahorn you aren't skilled?
-
2 commentairesSolo'n the gatekeeper leaves too much room for accidental deaths and other mishaps that will prolong the raid. Slow and steady wins the race Besides this post might become outdated with the new raid and increases light level.

Modifié par Say Yahh : 11/27/2014 11:40:21 PMThe overall skill of an fps gamer had nothing to with how much time they have to grind out and upgrade multiple weapons. If I can run the entire raid with my AE/IB/CM with out any problems, then I -blam!-ing will. Edit: Same thing with hard mode completions, I don't need to have played this game all day to be able to have 10 hm completions by now to prove skill. 1 run to learn the mechanics and 1 to perfect them is all you need Edit2: If the raid was solely based on individual skill the there would be 6 confluxes, six paths through gorgons one person could get through at a time, and each player would have to kill their own individual set of oracles during atheon, There's a reason the raid doesn't have public matchmaking, it's because it requires TEAMWORK.

These threads are so ghey

3 commentairesthe gatekeeper is a must on any raid team im on. The worst part of the raid is when you hit the gatekeeper checkpoint and call out which side you're soloing and nobody speaks up to cover the other side or you hear lets just do them one at a time, or ill just wait out here for you guys and go to the center, that's about the time I lose all faith in my team and am instantly ready to obit because I know ill be carrying these scrubs to the promise land. know how to us the relic if you want to raid, when you are teleported holding x should be a reflex, don't have hand cannons or shot guns equipped during atheon fight
