I believe this game is mathematically bullshit. NOTE: I love Destiny. I have enjoyed it so far, it's been great.
However, this game consists of little to no skill in the Crucible. It's hard to really tell when you can literally one shot anyone with 90% of the moves/guns available, but I at least know for sure how multiplayer used to be with Halo. Halo was the best display of skill because you got the same guns no matter what.
In theory, if you have a good gun, you will do well. If you have a shitty gun, you're gonna suck. Or you can just milk your Heavy Machine Gun ammo until the next one spawns in.
I think Destiny should have an extra Crucible playlist. We all get one of the same primary weapons (AR, Scout, Pulse, or HC), no specials, no super abilities, no radar, no extra shit added from the class specialization. It's hard to imagine Destiny ever having an MLG element mainly because of the extreme differences in weapons, but I think having this playlist would be best.
EDIT: This is not a post to brag about your KD ratio, you wanna measure your e-penis then go do that somewhere else.
This is not a post to talk about my KD. This is a post about whether if you guys think you would still be so "skilled" without your precious exotics/1 hit kill abilities.
EDIT: Added no radar.
Edit: So half of you agree with me that this game requires nothing but a good gun or an op class. Crucible can't even be taken seriously because of all the one shot nonsense, its a casual experience. The other half is barking at me for my titan not having a 5.0 kd. For the half of you, thank you for responding like an adult. For the other half, go -blam!- yourselves and go back to call of duty. plz and thanks :)

You wouldn't be able to get anywhere near me when I'm using thorn. That takes skill :-)

1 commentaireI can attest to this. I was completely miserable in crucible, but ever since I managed to get a Shadow Price with 3rd eye and field scout I've been pulling 1.00+ k/d games. My k/d has come up .30 points just in the handful of games since I started using the gun in the crucible. I didn't change my playstyle, or get better, or use any new tips, I simply got a better legendary with good perks and that is all that matters. There is some skill in terms of getting headshots involved, but really at the end of the day all crucible boils down to is who has the better weapon with better perk set.
-
1 commentaireI agree there should be a hardcore playlist where everyone starts with the same weapons, no supers, andno radar.
-
I would love hardcore mode. No radar or supers. :D

4 commentairesCan you one shot people? I mean, it';s happened to me many times, but I've never been able to do it. I had assumed that when I get killed with one shot (from a gun) that it was headshots. Those require skill. Otherwise, are guns that can one shot kill you so common. You say 90%, but I don't own a single weapon capable of it. Of course, I don't own many weapons. Are the Exotic weapons that everyone is so pissed off about Xur selling so good that they can one shot kill anyone without a headshot? It may sound like I'm being factious or sarcastic, but I'm really asking.

Modifié par Reclaimer : 11/5/2014 9:52:10 PMLOL ur k/d is trash kid git gud 1v1 me spaec invadirs pro mod fag (Yes, this is what you look like when you brag, you heathens.) On topic: Well, people like the easy way out. AR/Fusion Rifle/Shotty are easy to use, but the trade-off for ease of use is the limitation of effectiveness. Hand Cannons/Scout Rifles/Pulse Rifles/Sniper Rifles are only as powerful as the aim of the user wielding them. They require strength as a player, and don't just give what I call "avatar strength" (gun gets better, person using it doesn't). And people are mistaking their weapon's ease of use with their own level of strength. That's the problem. When you master one of the aforementioned guns that require player strength, your issues in PVP subside. Trust me.

The crucible requires skill to be good at it. The skill floor to get a kill is really low, but the skill floor to get multiple kills per life is at a reasonable place due to the skill floor of getting one kill. It's usually 50/50. Half the team has a postive k/d the other half a negative k/d. If it took no skill then that wouldn't happen. Also, if you're used to fps's then you have an advantage. I haven't played an fps multiplayer since...Halo 2? So, I was a bit rusty. Once I got in the swing of things I got a little better. Just saying, to be good there is skill required, whether you already have that skill or not

I wouldn't mind seeing special ammo a bit more restricted than it is now, but overall I think it's pretty fun.
-
The way I see it, the Crucible is just a percentage of the overall Destiny experience. I've never thought for a moment that is what this game is about. You can't look at it as a campaign/multiplayer game like most of the shooters out there, because it isn't. They have tried a different thing with this game, and for a lot of people it works. I play some strikes, a bit of story, some crucible and raid. I don't continuously play one single aspect of the game over and over, like I would have done with COD for example. If you are playing crucible only, then you are only really playing this game to around 20-25% of it's full potential.

Dude the guns give you little to no advantage, at all, in PVP (sans Iron Banner). So I think your point ("In theory, if you have a good gun, you will do well. If you have a shitty gun, you're gonna suck") is moot. However, Heavy Ammo will always deal more dog than reg or special ammo, so yeah, get to the purple stuff while it's still there! Happy Hunting, Guardian.

1 commentaireSo basically you want to play Halo?

Modifié par VinnVicious : 11/5/2014 9:36:16 PMSpecial weapons and heavy should just be removed from the crucible or ttk for primary weapons is increased big time. I promise you with 100% certainty they'll be no competitive game until those are removed or changed in multiplayer
-
I'm horrible at crucible and my KDR illustrates it. I'm perfectly fine at PvE but the skill set for PvP is different

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzx

I don't know what to make of crucible. I'm not much of a PVP person to begin with (my kd will attest to that), but there is something very wrong with PVP in Destiny. I can pull an amazing run and suddenly I am completely unable to inflict damage. I've had Titans one hit melee my bladedancer after I've landed 6 strikes with my arcblade to no effect. I've played rounds where certain team members seem to become impervious and this isn't uncommon from what my friends have been saying (I only PVP for exotic bounties). I find most of my time spent in the crucible seems to be luck of the draw. Almost as if their method of normalizing weapons and armor goes buggy at times and does the opposite of what it's supposed to do.
-
1 commentaireI don't think Crucible was ever meant to be competitive. I believe Bungie was/still hoping to court players that are into grinds like WoW and Diablo. They could make this competitive by having everyone start with the same weapons and disabling armor perks. They could even leave Supers in and it would still be competitive if they have this setup. Bump if you agree!
-
I disagree that there isn't skill involved and if you can routinely hang onto heavy ammo throughout the game more power to you. I do agree that we need more match types though and I'd love to see a halo style match type where you start out with an assault rifle and have to get to certain locations to pick up grenades, a sniper, a rocket launcher, maybe a better AR. That would be pretty fun I think. I would be up for that being a 'no supers' playlist too.
-
8 commentairesHonestly, my main issue in crucible is being one shot by a Suros Regime.
-
It's just fun to play not competitively but just fun. I only play for bounties, so I don't play crucible all the time. I do well most of the time too.
-
I'm a 30 titan and sometimes I still get mowed down by 15s so what? We know crucible was an even playing ground but those low levels don't have essential perks that we have from a maxed out character Crucible is easy to play but to dominate you still require skill, reflex and a little bit of luck I can mow down 3 in a row and a 15 will waltz along and melee me once and shut me down because I was low at the time, oh well Stop bitching about how easy crucible is and learn to get a positive KDA, you're better than that Try again, Guardian
-
5 commentairesClaims crucible requires no skill, can't maintain a positive kd... Madcusbad perhaps? Is that you meg?

Lol idiot 'facepalm'
