No legendary weapon should be preferred to its exotic counterpart. Weapons are requiring too much of a time and material investment and you shouldn't feel like you made a bad decision or got ripped off. I've felt both. The only reason you should have a purple weapon equipped instead of your exotic of the same weapon type, is if you're equipping an exotic primary/secondary/heavy and the purple is your back-up. I've been working on upgrading the Pocket Infinity, which was quite as task to get and now it's been nerfed to auto-fire a 3 round clip from what was up to an 8 round clip?! I can't help but feel like I could easily prefer a quick charge purple fusion to this. I also had the MIDA-Tool scout rifle that was upgraded w/ the hair-trigger and easily found purple scouts that hit harder and killed enemies faster. Why would I feel that an exotic weapon that was less impactful and needed to have the trigger pulled more often per kill is "EXOTIC" or OP compared to a legendary? I don't, and that's the problem w/ Destiny. STOP randomly awarding people with these half-assed exotic weapons, make them stronger and only award them for actually accomplishing something difficult. That or stop making them SEEM awesome when the simply are NOT!
