What do you guys think of a survival mode being implemented into Destiny?
If you ask me I would have to say yes, just because a survival mode would give more purpose for having stronger armor and weapons.
- It is very much appreciated if you bump this thread, help us spread the word.
Bump The Thread Tho!

3 commentairesYou know what else would be really cool? A story mode.

18 commentairesCan we literally just get Faction Wars? I want 6v6 matches of Dead Orbit members VS New Monarchy members etc and if you win you receive double faction rep and your loot drops are potentially faction-specific gear. Who's with me?

3 commentairesYes it would be fun. Especially since the Darkness just thrives on killing Guardians/Light bearers, I'm surprised there isn't some like bastion or fortresss we could go to (besides our safe little Tower) where the Light is fighting Darkness. It should be huge, 18-24 Guardian battles on a big map with ships constantly dropping or Vex teleporting in. Mad house style.

As game is, it really needs all the extra content that it can get.

Oh yes! Bumpity bump bump.

-
Yes yes YEEEEEES bump
-
That would be awesome, bump

The enitire enemy spawn mechanics run like a survival/horde mode, short of a few missions, so i dont know why one wasnt implemented very early on..all you do entire game is deploy ghost, wait for your slow ass ghost to scan something and try to survive, so a real mode with waves would be fun and easy to create
-
Of course, one for each planet.
-
It would be great, but Bungie is too lazy to care about this game anymore.
-
Pfff, just do the loot cave.
-
Yes But that would be fun and bungie doesn't want us to have fun

1 commentaireModifié par Draw176 : 10/8/2014 1:12:43 AMIf Destiny hopes to survive itself, it needs such a mode. There are 2 examples that immediately spring to mind. The first is the Horde of Gears of War. I myself have over 32,000 waves of horde in GOW 3 alone and I know people with more than that. GOW 3 is 3 years old and still, there is no difficulty in finding a public match. Gears of War Judgement, which came out after GOW 3, had no Horde mode-only a cheap survival wannabe and the game is now is dead; whereas GOW 3 is still alive and kicking. There is a lesson to be learned there. The other game is Iron Brigade. The entire game is basically one big survival mission with each mission giving its own rewards/loot-much like Destiny. When they added an actual survival mode, the game become so popular it was constantly crashing the servers. The dev's were not prepared for an overwhelming response, and even though the game came out several years ago, and was even a free game almost a year ago, it is still populated today. Again, lessons to be learned here. A survival mode in Destiny comprised of a mixture of these two games would be ideal. Like Horde, they should have functions for both public and private matches and private matches should be customizable. Like Iron Brigade, rewards should be handed out based on the wave reached. Iron Brigade gives out rewards/loot for reaching wave 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. Destiny could follow such an example. Whereas Iron Brigade has a fixed loot system, Destiny could keep theirs somewhat random. However, they could also use things such as difficulty settings and number of deaths in determining who gets what loot (kills should not be used because it will encourage kill stealing and selfish play in what is supposed to be a team based mode). Every difficulty should yield the same rewards, just that there is a higher chance of getting the better gear from more difficult settings. A Horde match on it's hardest settings takes at least 4 hours, a public match with normal settings takes about 2 hours. Iron Brigades survival is not customizable and takes 2 hours. A survival mode that takes between 1 to 2 hours to complete on normal settings seems a reasonable amount of time. The matchmaking system of Horde combined with the loot/reward system of Iron Brigade all combined with the many maps Destiny has to offer and all the different enemies, would help to ensure a long life for Destiny. After all, GOW 3 only had a 1 year plan at best for DLC (although most all of it came out within 6-8 months) and that game is still going strong. Seems a game with a 10 year plan would be foolish to ignore these extremely popular game modes and not follow these examples. AND NO!!!! We do not want some rip off of that lame firefight mode form Halo. You can just keep that!!!

Yaaaaas

Yes. Any kind of horde/survival mode would be a hell of a lot of fun.

1 commentaireIf they add great loot drops (such as rare/legendary during these fights) and great rewards depends on how far u go in the waves Then yes sign me up (PvE ftw) SOLO and Group Mode also

Modifié par TSL BestOfMe : 12/28/2014 3:29:00 AMsurvival or horde modes would be awesome! They would be easy to make. You have four enemy classes now, so it would be simple to implement four variations with all levels of enemies from each. I'm 100% behind this idea! Edit: also, include private/custom matches to the Crucible/PvP
