Its VERY true.
Every time a mass shooting happens the NRA and every gun owner starts saying that if a responsible gun owner had been present, then the event would have been avoided. But, since the shooters were always just the normal guy that no one saw anything wrong with, this means that they looked like everyone else.
If that's true, and a responsible gun owner could have averted the disaster, then that means they were looking at everyone.
That means, whenever you are around a responsible gun owner, you have them eying you over, figuring out how to kill you, just in case you turn out to be the next mass shooter.
Since very few people attend any formalized training, or are ex-cops or military, this means the vast majority are untrained, and itching to pull their piece and put you down.

Well your wrong, as usual. Just because someone is capable of applying lethal force doesnt mean they really want to and will at a moments notice. For example, I have cans of spray paint in my garage but i dont watch for buildings without cameras to go spray them at night. Capability doesn't = want. 2nd thats what cops do is it not? look for potential threats. but its not like they shoot everyone in sight. Come on its time to wake up and realize the truth.

I think youre incorrect, but hey, your opinion.

36 commentairesAs someone who is routinely armed, I would like to clarify your statement. I am "capable" of employing lethal force at a moments notice, but at the same time, because I know that I have the means of lethal force, that means that I am always on the watch for how to avoid a conflict that would require such a tragic and horrendous outcome. I spot conflict, fights, and just "uncomfortable situations" as soon as I can and then do all that I possibly can do to distance myself from the potential encounter. The other person (or persons) don't know that I have the tools of lethal force available, and so they aren't under the same level of responsibility as I am. I take that responsibility seriously and so I am the person who is ignoring my ego, walking (or even running) away from the conflict if I possibly can. I certainly don't talk trash, exchange words and don't give a damn if or what names they call at me as I leave. I know that if I don't do everything that I could to have de-escalated and withdrawn from the potential conflict and I do have to use lethal force, that by staying and escalating, I would appear (to law-enforcement and a jury) as if I was eager to use a firearm. More importantly than that, I need to know for my own peace of mind that I did everything that I could to avoid taking someone's life. I am capable of it, I am prepared to, I am even trained to. But I don't WANT to. That's just me. I know a lot of people who believe that "since I have a pistol, I don't need to take shit off of anyone". I take the exact opposite mindset. I will take all of the shit in the world if it means that no one dies. But if me or someone around me is in danger of severe harm or loss of life due to the aggression of someone else? I am prepared to respond. I just want to know that I did all that I could to prevent it coming to that.

I'm getting real tired of these shitty bait threads.

No one is telling or suggesting people who conceal carry firearms to review or evaluate all strangers to pick out a mass shooter before it happens. What is suspected and suggested is for them to respond to mass shooters when a shooting occurs defensively, and if they're confident and aware of the shooter, go after him / her offensively. A lot of people who conceal carry ARE military veteran AND off-duty or veteran retired police. Not to mention most police and military aren't trained much in firearms besides for a select few, effectiveness and proficiency relies on practice, which most peoplel who conceal carry do very much and a lot of them shoot more rounds practicing than police do in their training and experiences.

There is some actual truth to this. Someone carrying a gun is far more likely to assume you are holding one as well, and to mistake other objects for guns. So, don't make any sudden movements while holding a pop bottle around a gun nut.

1 commentairePossibly, or possibly they'd remember they're absolute cowards and will run at the sound of sustained gunfire. I'll put it this way, at least the latter survive.

1 commentaireI use shooting ranges, took my hunting course when I was 13, use proper gun etiquette and don't point at any other human beings. I own guns, I shoot guns, guns don't kill, stupid with them do.

So am I.

Man. This makes me feel a lot better. Considering my neighborhood is full of drug dealers and gangsters. Most likely to carry a gun with them. Thank you. I'm never leaving my house again.

Another liberal post, didn't expect this at all.

6 commentairesNo you idiot... If someone pulls out a gun and starts shooting people, a responsible gun owner would take him out. Are you this stupid.
