I think author and musician should be swapped. An author can find all his or her facts online, and can be pretty dumb, if it's complete fiction. Music however, that takes a lot of practice, and some talent. To be a famous musician, it takes long hours of work and pain. Certainly harder to do.

 • I think your under estimating musicians. A good song can take months to get just right, to get every note, every little sound just right, and to flow the right way. (Of course, I am speaking mainly of classical musicians.) Not to mention the pressure of going on stage. (still talking about classical here. Not rock. I'm 99% positive theirs a difference) A good musician can practice with their instrument for years upon years upon years, wearing crevices into their fingers that literally never go away. (Specifically talking about string musicians here) And speaking form experience, after just an hour of practice, you fingers will start to hurt like a bitch, and their are people who practice over 5 hours a day. And all that practice doesn't come even close to preparing them for what it's like on stage, hundreds of people quietly starring at you, expecting you to preform a musical master piece right there in front of them, and let me tell you, when you make a mistake live, in front of tons of people, you can't just "retry", you can't just delete the old recording and start again, you have to keep going, keep your composure, or else you'll make more, and more, and more mistakes. Authors sit in front of computer screens typing away little ideas, sometimes doing a quick google fact check, and bam it's done. Musician > Author.

 • And the moon is fucked up with meteor holes, but that doesn't make it more powerful than the sun. I love music, love it... but pure writing takes more skill.

 • As a person who has put a significant amount of time, is a published author and practiced so long I got those ridges in my fingers (Guitar was instrument of choice, though I'm going to be taking up violin soon.) I can say learning to play an instrument not good, but simply well, is a hell of a lot more time consuming and difficult then writing. At least for me. I'll always respect musicians more, I think.

 • It's been an absurd amount of years... Hell i don't even have the file. Long story short, it was a multiple chapter story published in a high school magazine that was made once per semester, with the best stories, paintings, and drawings that the students made. It was a story about a soldier who had seen so much hell in some unknown war that he was sent spiraling into his own madness, and seemed to be in some hellish world. He saw horrid things there, one scene I'm particularly proud of involved a little girl, blood pouring out of her mouth, then her falling out of a tree and snapping her neck. And no, I do not understand how anyone allowed this to be published into a school magazine. However, I do have some more recent stories I'v been working on. Nothing complete, but ideas, a few prolouge, maybe a chapter or two. Would you prefer the shorter, more recent story of a city filled with musicians and clubs, where everyone plays an instrument(Oh the sweet irony.) or one about a girl who has the ability to see physical connections that people have as line sin the air, connecting person to person. The first is somewhat rushed compared to the second, as I want to finish it in 3 chapters a prolouge and en epilouge, while the latter is much much longer but parts or rushed, parts or detailed. you know how it is, sometimes you get bored of writting your current scene and want to get to the next one ASAP.
