PC gaming
I never did understand the fascination with gaming PCs. It's time consuming and mentally challenging to learn how to build a PC when you could just sit down to a console. I never understood why anyone would go to all that effort when you can get a console. And all you get out of it in return is prettier graphics and better processing power. Why bother?

1 commentaireIt takes a few days of research and a few hours to build it. Its as easy as plugging in your xbox to your tv. If you find that mentally challenging id get you checked out.

3 commentairesI don't care about the graphics and processing...although when you run a game compared to a console you notice immediately how much smoother it runs. My reason for PC gaming is mostly mods, I love mods, they add to the games I play, Bethesda games especially. How I ever played a Bethesda game without mods before is beyond me. The part about building your PC is hardly time consuming, and if you really have trouble then just find a friend or someone who can help you. I personally have a go-to guy who helps me put my tech into my PCs.

2 commentairesYou dont need to build a PC to play games. You can buy a pretty good PC at a fair price. You might not get the best settings, but it would still look good. Im pretty new the whole PC gaming scene and I have fallen in love. There seems to be a bigger variety of games on PC. Mods are great too. Also the community in PC gaming is awesome as well.

pc does more than games. In fact consoles are turning into PCs.

Why bother?[/quote]You also get more AI, bigger games, better prices, more options for everything, better long term support, MODS Oh, and [b]more games then you could ever imagine[/b]- so many that you can't even get accurate numbers because of how many there are, but it's easily in the tens of thousands. Legit took me one day to figure out what I wanted/needed while staying within my budget. And putting it together is definitely no problem.

This is the ONE single reason I bought a Falcon-Northwest computer. The amount of high end games that look so beautiful, I've tricked people into thinking the game was real via screenshots. But graphics are only a tiny medium compare to gameplay, and some of the amazing games out on PC only are insane. My first ever PC-only series was Arma (It's most current iteration being Arma III). Never looked back. It was incredible. Then you delve into free to play games, like Blacklight: Retribution or War Thunder, and it keeps getting better. Then I started modding other games, like Fallout: New Vegas, eventually making my own mods. It is literally a completely different world, so much so that consoles shouldn't be compared to PC's. I'm still getting an Xbox One because I NEED Destiny, and playing a Bungie game on anything else besides and Xbox wouldn't feel right. I mean yes, PCs are an absolute B**** to take care of or build if you are getting into it. It's also extremely expensive. My old rig was a standard HP that only ran me $600. That's not too far from consoles, and it could play everything on medium settings. At 60fps. That's another huge thing, its literally so much better an experience playing at twice the frames per second as consoles. I had battlefield 3 for Xbox and PC, and its a world a difference. But again, its not for some people. If your really looking into getting a PC, depending on how persuasive B.net people can be, there are plenty of people on here that are more than willing to help you out along the way. :)

You see, something people care about those things. Some people are curious, and like to know how things work. Some people like to have more control over the things they use.

PC does have a lot more advantages than simply processing power. Mod support for some games is probably the largest advantage in PC gaming. Additionally, games are cheaper. I would also count the more precise and responsive control interface as an advantage too; the mouse. In general, the supply of higher quality mice and keyboards is extensive. In the console market, there really aren't many high quality controllers available. Sure, there are custom controllers, but they've usually been built with the same build quality as the default controller. Razer is really the only company I can think of that has started pushing third party controllers with high build quality. Nonetheless, the peripheral market for PC is huge with lots of manufacturers making high quality gaming oriented peripherals. Finally, here's my personal opinion: I like tinkering with the hardware. I can understand if someone isn't interested in learning to upgrade their own PC and just wants an easy device that plays games. But personally I like to spend time thinking how's my next upgrade going to be like. I like learning more about the hardware and software side of computers and making my PC more powerful and prettier. But I can understand that's not for everyone. I can understand that some people don't have the money. To be honest, unless you have more than 600$/€ to invest, I'd recommend [i]not[/i] to get a PC because usually at least decent hardware is needed to be able to enjoy the full experience. People play how they want to play. I'd certainly recommend anyone who can invest in a decent PC to start PC gaming, but I can see why someone may not want to. PC gaming is not for everyone, but if it's not for your, don't shun PC gamers.

For starters, I didn't buy this computer in pieces, it was prebuilt, but if anything happens to any of the parts, it will be quite easy to replace since it's a custom PC. I also have FRAPS which is the best way to capture gameplay. Lastly, the deals on Steam are fantastic. I got Left 4 Dead 2 the other day for $5 and I got some really sick mods installed with it as well, and it all took a click of a button. Best of all I have a wired 360 controller, and when I plugged it in to play L4D2, it was already preconfigured. Oh and all the DLC that costs money on the Xbox version for Left 4 Dead 2 is already included free of charge on the PC. Can you do all that with a console?

12 commentairesBecause you get a unique experience of building something that's [i]yours[/i] and you know exactly how it works and what's in it. I just like it far more, it's superior to any other platform and it's only downside is the price tag.

Its just that sense of accomplishment. Wouldn't you feel good if you put together a computer that can handle Crisis 3 on High graphics?

7 commentairesWell, if we choose to ignore the processing power benefits (like asking the difference between apples and oranges other than one is orange) then how about more options when it comes to gaming? Sony is Sony, Microsoft is Microsoft, and Nintendo is Nintendo. You get no variety on any single console platform in terms of who controls the market you're buying from. On PC, you get a variety of services ranging from Steam, Origin, etc... You get more direct competition because PC gamers have choice when it comes to who gets their money. The services all compete on game sales which is far different from consoles that rely more heavily on exclusives to sway consumers to one console or the other. This results in stupidly amazing sales all the time for that reason (Steam sale most likely coming up soon as well). There's also the secret option of just buying the game in store and not be tied to a service (though this is quickly going away admittedly). On PC you get choice to who you buy from. On consoles you're locked into that platform's specific company. The PC platform is an entity of its own not bound by a single console maker.

46 commentairesIts not hard at all to put a PC together. It requires very little technical knowledge. assuming that you can use a screwdriver, plug things into other things, and follow instructions.
