Q: Does Xbox One require an “always on” Internet connection?
A: No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet. We’re designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection.
Huh?
"No, it does not have to be always connected"

No mention of every day/24 hours. It still works when disconnected, but for better voice recognition it will be connected to the internet. OP, go work at IGN. Better yet, shut the -blam!- up and -blam!- off.

4 commentairesThe PS4's looking pretty good right now.

All aboard the PS4 train! Now departing for generation awesome! Choo choo!

1 commentaireMan, Xbox fans are getting XbOne'd.

......Even more reason for me to get ps4.

What if you don't turn it on once every 24 hours? What happens?

I think I speak everyone who already abandoned the Xbox platform when I say: HA!

So it is like Steam where you have to be online to buy the game then you never have to be online again? But instead you have to keep doing it... WUT

2 commentairesMost of us have nothing to witty about. I'll say that because at least half of us have a fair/good Internet connection, and, thus, will always hop onto the One within a 24-hour period.
-
They told gametrailers that you don't need to be online to play single player. I call bullshit on this.
-
It doesn't seem like much, but whenever you go on vacation or lose your internet your Xbox doesn't let you play your games. Couple this with the quirks pertaining to Kinect and you've got some frustrating inconveniences. It's not the end of the world, but it's some notable and seemingly unecesarry frustrations. I think I'll jump ship to the PS4. So far as I know, on there you don't have to deal with this and it'll be cool to get that extra content, whatever it is.

lolXbox One

3 commentairesSo once every 24 hours my XBO will have to connect momentarily to the XBox servers? Oh no! What were they thinking! That will ruin gaming as we know it! Oh woe is me! Seriously, you guys complaining are -blam!-ing hilarious.
-
I don't have a problem with this.

Or can I go weeks and weeks? Harrison: I believe it’s 24 hours. Kotaku: I’d have to connect online once every day. Harrison: Correct.
OOOOOHHHH. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH! What the -blam!-. Just, WHAT THE -blam!-. Game over Microsoft. Game. Over. (Also, why did you post a link to a link?) EDIT: Here it is on their own site: http://news.xbox.com/2013/05/qa
Q: Does Xbox One require an “always on” Internet connection? A: No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet. [....]
Well that is sort of a lie by way of not telling the whole truth. Hmm.
