YouTubers are the ones that ruined Destiny let me explain!
Honestly, it’s YouTubers that are the problem. You guys spoil it for everyone. You’re always right there giving out the answer, which takes away from the whole excitement of finding friends in the Tower back in the old days and building a clan of people who can actually help you get through difficult times.
Instead of reaching out for community, tens of thousands of people just go to one place for the answers to dungeons or raids. Of course, the classic excuse is: "If you don't want to know, don't look." YouTubers even put up spoiler alerts like, "Hey, just an alert that we're about to ruin the game for you!" Okay, great—so I don't look. But the people in my clan do. The people I play with every day do.
It’s like going to the movies with your girlfriend when she’s already watched it with her parents or other friends. The excitement of watching and discovering something together is totally diminished. You can’t pretend it isn’t. Because my teammates already have the "spoiler," it ruins the fun for me. It’s at the point where I don't even want to play with people who have already done the things we didn't get to do together yet.
And don’t just say, "You don't have to do it." There’s a reason Missing Out is such a powerful hook. It’s how Destiny hooks you into logging in every week for the Eververse; if you aren’t there on reset day, you miss out. YouTubers do the exact same thing: "You won't believe what we just discovered!" While you guys are making money off the game, you’re also killing it. I wanted to find friends to help me build something—not have ten thousand people get the answer at the exact same time. There's no human connection in that. While you’re milking the system, you’re helping kill the system.

2 commentairesAt the end of it all, every decision made was made by Bungie & no one else. Yes, CCs can talk a lot of game, good or bad, but they don't have hands on the controls. They aren't on the floor coding or writing, or in boardrooms making decisions. And if Bungie made decisions based on the CCs contributions, it was still Bungie that made those calls. You can throw all the shade you want at Datto etc, but he isn't the one making calls on release dates or nerfs or activities. I don't believe for 1 second that the Portal is anything other than Bungie making a huge mistake & continuing to fumble week after week. The amount of changes they rolled back speaks to how much of a miss the whole revamp was.

Youtubers and CCs, in general, have become an endemic issue with gaming. Sure, you can bury your head in the sand, but algorithms know what you engage with and will push things despite you trying to avoid them. It truly is hard to avoid things, in this day and age, without going totally dark on all forms of technology.

1 commentaireBrother i hate youtubers more than anyone but the youtuber itself is not the problem . It is the ones that watch them . If a youtuber had like 50 viewers then bungie would not care about them but hundreds of thousands are watching them , millions if you combine them all and streamers know this , that is why they became streamers in the first place . To get free money because they have a fanboy army that watches their videos and people that pay to be subs while you can watch them for free . They are litterally getting what they want from random people while the rest of the world studies and works to achieve what they want without the support of hundreds thousands of randoms . Streamers are living that easy life but i still don't get why anyone would support them . The ones that support them don't get anything out of it while the streamer itself is living like a king because of that support . I know half of their viewers are viewbots but still the other half are real people . Tf is wrong with those people ????

Without the influence of YouTube games like this wouldn’t got successful and the studio closed down There was times content creators like Datto helped people complete an exotic quest on mars with warmind by doing a video on how to get all medallions around the map and Esoteric and his nightfall guides for destiny one and Mesa Sean and his armsday videos by recommending the best weapons to go for including other creators doing Xur inventory videos every Friday.

5 commentairesYT'ers are providing a video for viewers. if the playerbase wasn't into spoilers/hate news/rage news/guides etc there wouldn't be a reason for these YT'ers to make said videos. I've done the last few raids, dungeons, puzzles, exotic missions, campaigns blind with friends that also want to do them blind. I suggest you find players of a similar playstyle and group together to find that mystery again. YT guides are great for gamers that simply want the answer to puzzles etc instead of trying to figure things out for themselves. Some players don't like puzzles etc and just want the reward.

The minute they have a viewpoint or opinion that supports a negative aspect of the game they're used to bolster their point. I'm sorry you can't have it both ways. This community is incredibly inconsistent and needs to pick a lane.

Perhaps this is all true, but what do you expect to be done about it? If we know nothing else about gamers, we at least know that many will do anything to win; spoilers be damned. Change the human condition, and you've found the solution.
