Did I hear that right? During the livestream one of them just kinda casually mentioned it then quickly moved on. So will the seasonal weapons not be craftable? Why!? That's a horrible, HORRIBLE decision if true. Crafting is one of the main reasons why I got back into this game and without it I'm already starting to lose interest.

4 commentairesYeah it’s a crazy decision to me. Weapon patterns or not, the game still has the issue of player burn out. It’s still there and making these weapons god rolls reliant on RNG which is terrible in this game at least for me (67 clears and not a single buried bloodlines drop) won’t change this. The issue is they listen to people like Datto over anyone else. He does NOT represent the entire player base. His job is to play this game. If that’s his problem of having nothing to do then that’s his problem. Find another game to play or get a real job. The average player who works 40 hour weeks plays causally and they enjoyed having a goal, and end point in a grind. I mean it could take well over 100 drops of these items to get a god roll.

Modifié par SapperNC : 10/4/2024 5:04:06 AMI like crafting for RNG protection and the roll flexibility as well as it removed FOMO for me. but grinding for rolls wouldn't be bad if 5 out of the 7 perks in a column weren't actual trash. I hate grinding in PvE content just to get a garbage PvP roll when I primarily play PvE. It isn't like D1 anymore where there's a total of 4 perks on a gun you could get there a lot more now and they just keep adding more. Plus they keep adding back weapons we already grinded hours for because Bungie can make up their mind on what their game should be.

1 commentaireThe thing people aren't talking about with this is that Bungie gives weighted rolls to "RNG" weapon drops. It isnt true RNG. If you play enough you know. Go read up on Mountain Top rolls back in the last onslaught. Took me over 300 drops for just the roll combination. The mathematically probability of that coming from true RNG is pretty impossible. Add in the forums had 5 - 6 posts at a time saying the same thing... If this was true RNG then game on. But given current player count numbers. I see some serious shenanigans about to go down. Remember when Bungie stealth nerfed player XP to increase play time metrics? I am sure it will all be ethical and really random this time though guys.

Crafting ruined the game
-
Sorry pal. That why enchantments add for weapons. Bungie is focus on that than crafting. I love crafting.

Modifié par glitchHiker : 10/1/2024 8:41:30 PMI just want to add that crafting made me want to play this game more. It's a main part of why I came back to this game after leaving before forsaken came out and coming back during season 17. There's nothing like finally getting to craft these weapons with the perfect perks/stats then take them into a strike/onslaught/crucible/raids/dungeons and put them to use. It's just so satisfying. And there are always other weapons like world drops or dungeon/crucible/vanguard weapons to chase rolls on. Having some weapons craftable [WHILE THEY ARE RELEVANT] and some weapons not craftable is a perfect system as is. Removing crafting and adding the pinnacle cap grind are both examples of Bungie artificially adding more grind and moving this game backwards instead of forwards, effectively ruining their game. Slowly but surely. Terrible decision, Bungie; 100x worse than the pinnacle grind coming back. Adding more grind for the sake of grinding and slowly taking options/power away from the player. This is beyond transparent. Moving backwards, not forward. Terrible decision. Please go back on this before it's too late.

2 commentairesThey are scrambling to make their mediocre content have some relevance....... Armor 4.0 and this. It's their usual M.O. Do the worst idea and make it sound good.
-
Seems so, maybe later as a "catch up " mechanic; which I basically took as ... Revenant isnt gonna see much play from me, they front load the story for each act, and no way in hell can I drop the time farming for god rolls, so ... a week or two each act I guess; maybe I can make inroads on my steam catalogue LOL
-
With their plans for future weapon updates and whatever tier system they mentioned, there’s odds that all current weapons could become irrelevant anyway. Maybe not, but until I hear otherwise, I won’t be putting much effort into getting new weapon rolls.
-
2 commentairesCrafting the seasonal weapons was the one thing I looked forward to. It was great to get your hands on the weapons and then get to try out different combos of perks - so you basically got to enjoy the game with the weapons you liked and felt fun to use. I don’t know if I can go back to playing the Destiny RNG slot machine. I was also determined to craft weapons just so I can free up vault space. Craft weapon…delete the RNG rolls. No need to collect different combos of all the weapons just in case it might be “the one”. There’s just no space for it. We’ll see how this goes. But sounds like instead of focusing on having fun in engaging content, we’ll just be doing more chores.

This season's activities are both boring and time-consuming, and the new season's activities are modified based on the old season. Why do seasonal weapons quickly become impossible to manufacture? Because they see that there are too few people playing this game now. There are no new gameplay modes in seasonal events, and it is still the old mode. Bungie wants to force players online, which is indeed disappointing.

With weapon crafting, I grind for every gun, trying to get the patterns. Without weapon crafting, I ignore any gear that doesn't blatantly powercreep something I already have, or fill a slot that hasn't been filled already (which is few and far between). Leaves only a gun or two a season to care about. Get a half way decent version, throw it in the vault with all the rest, and wait for a buff/nerf wave to make it relevant. I dunno, seems to me that crafting makes me play more. I'm not going to sit in an activity and smash my head against the wall of RNG to get a perfect 5/5 when the gear is all so mediocre , and any gear that's good will be nerfed either within the season or launches, or the season after. Their reasoning about how into the light brought player numbers like... There was -blam!- to do before that and the hype machine was spinning, of course people played more during the "hopeful" and celebratory time of into the light. They would've done the same if they could craft all those weapons too. Absolutely bonkers...

They listened to Datto and other nongrasstouchingever streamers/ytbers

24 commentairesCrafting ruined the feeling of a loot chase. RNG actually made chasing specific weapons rewarding. Nothing better than finally getting the weapon and roll you’ve been looking. It’ll be used as a catch up mechanic, which is fine by me. But having most weapons be craftable ruins alot of the term “looter”.

4 commentairesModifié par viiTactiiCZz : 10/1/2024 7:34:48 PMI'm assuming this is prep for the Frontiers change they announced. Leave people to grind it during Episodes -> add it to crafting table during Frontiers.
'What’s happening with weapon crafting? Weapon crafting is not going away and will continue to be a way to craft a specific roll of a weapon. Our intent is for crafting going forward to provide a catch-up mechanism for rolls you weren't able to nab from the original sources. This may be because that source is no longer available or was gated by lockouts when it was. But ultimately, we want crafting to support the weapon chase, and not replace it. We’ll follow up with more details in a future article. '
https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/coregame_rewards

Yep, I looked for that aside. It’s a little after the 20 min mark. It’s their first move to see what happens I suppose. Seems the time to invest my harmonizers into salvation gear is nigh. I’ll just get kills as part of the seal and move on. Vault’s not getting any bigger anyway 🤷🏻♂️

In this game unlike armor, weapons are so important and different with their attributes/perks so I think I would ask for it to be tackled like this: 1. You work on improving RNG with either enough engrams/runs eventually qualify for crafting or a version of such (perks if not barrel/mag at the very least). 2. If a player wishes to (can be part of monetization) they can craft up to some amount of weapons per season. 3. Any player willing to spend a lot of time in the game can earn enough resources to purchase anything anywhere. -
10 commentaires
Did I hear that right?
Yes, they shortly introduced a new system at the beginning of the current stream, which looks pretty different as it's now. I prefer crafting.

3 commentairesThe benefits of crafting are much higher than the cons... it's rng protection, and a vault space saver. Yes, it may not provide the chase that some players are interested in, but it doesn't take away the chase completely... we still need the red borders, and those should be the exciting drops. If you ever think to keep gear saved up in the vault for times when you may need it, for example... who's to say that there won't be stasis buffs and grenade launcher buffs on the next artifact; why keep all the clutter around in the vault when you can grab what you need straight away. This is key for doing activities straight away... let's say you don't have a very good roll for a weapon that it required for a run of something end game - what's the choice here: Give me 5 mins and I'll craft it Let me grab a trash roll from the vault Let's me go away and farm an activity to get a high tier version (which could never drop for you).
-
No, because they want you to GRIND! GRIND, you filthy animals!
-
5 commentairesIt's due to the potion system. You choose what you want like Menagerie basically in the act 2 portion
-
The activity is literally onslaught. So the weapon chase is the same as onslaught. Really not that crazy
-
I’d be fine with the perks being random if I could just choose my own masterwork. Like allow all enhanceable weapons be allowed to select their own enhanced intrinsics like on craftable weapons.
-
4 commentairesAs somebody who doesn’t even complete all the patterns for some weapons, I actually prefer the random drop method. Crafting isn’t exciting. Crafting is just a chore for me and I don’t enjoy it. I do enjoy getting a Godroll randomly.
-
4 commentairesOpposite for me. Ever since lightfall/season 20 I have finished most of the patterns in the first 1-2 weeks of a season while playing casually and I end up with enough engrams to finish the rest of the patterns by weekly guaranteed red border focusing. By that point the gameplay loop is login, focus red border, log off. I would like a reason to engage with seasonal content throughout the season. Especially since we are getting an updated version of onslaught which I really like. 5/5 god rolls are not necessary for 99% of weapons in pve. I think crafting has a valid place in this game (especially with pvp) but I'm very happy to see the seasonal loot structure change, even if it might only be for this season.
