Destiny, despite its polished design and rich content, ironically stumbles in its core gameplay—especially in PvP. The game’s abysmal tick rate, one of the worst among shooters, turns competitive play into a frustrating mess where hit registration feels random, not skill-based. Combine this with outdated peer-to-peer (P2P) networking, and you’ve got a recipe for lag, disconnects, and unfair advantages that render PvP a joke.
Cross-save, intended to unify players across platforms, instead highlights these issues. When you die in a way that feels off, it’s likely because you’re up against someone on a different platform with distinct hardware advantages. Destiny’s PvP, plagued by these flaws, feels more like a gamble than a test of skill, making the game’s promises of a seamless community experience ring hollow.
In the end, Destiny’s cross-save and lag issues reveal a cynical reality: what could have been a top-tier multiplayer experience is instead marred by technical choices that seem to prioritize cost-saving over player enjoyment.

Remember when everyone was wailing on Sony for lack of crossplay? How the tables are turning. Crossplay in many instances has ruined the pvp experience in a lot of mp games.

7 commentairesPvP is not a priority in this game. It got sacrificed for PvE, projects outside of Destiny and maybe some other reasons too. It’s remarkable it’s lasted this long really. Embrace the jank, or play something else. It’s not going to change.

After a long period of absence from PVP, did an hour today… end result frustration. For all the reason you mention.

3 commentairesAbsolutely, and nobody talks about crossplay lag anymore. But it’s like one of the most irritating and prominent problems in PvP. I’m on Xbox and mostly I’m the only one or maybe one of two or maaayyybbbe three in a 6v6 who’s on Xbox. Everyone else is PS. And these people are half a second ahead of me. I get two-tapped and I’m down before I hear the third shot, which I know looks different on their end but that doesn’t help me. It’s pathetic. The state of this game is absolutely pathetic. And they wonder why the company is falling apart when they focus on Eververse and the only gameplay changes they make is making PvE so unbearably hard that nobody even wants to play the new raid.

3 commentairesAbout two years ago I played in a tournament. I got knocked out pretty early on but a friend of mine got to the finals so I decided to watch the game. The game went to time. The first kill happened after 7 minutes. I don’t remember the end score but neither team even got close to winning by score because the game play was so slow. You wanna know the crazy part? The team that won…they won because of a MELEE WHIFF. They won the entire tournament because in the last few seconds on a tied score someones melee did not connect. I saw that and since that day I never played in another tournament or faceit game. The fact you can lose a tournament because of a damage glitch, because of a melee whiff, because of a random lag spike. It opened my eyes in that moment. How could anyone take this joke of a game serious. I have never played competitive pvp since that day. (not to mention the prize pool was like 500 dollars, completely garbage)

Let's be honest here. The story has ended on a positive note. Players are still here whinging (including myself), not realising that in reality, Destiny has got nothing more substantial to offer at the end of TFS. Thanks.

Modifié par COMBATICUS : 8/18/2024 4:43:24 AMI don't get how you guys take destiny pvp this seriously. It's honestly a joke, the fact you guys huff and puff as if bubgie will wave some magic wand and make this games pvp some awesome esport experience after what 10+ years of nothing but trash. I blame no1, not even bungie, except you pvpers. Yes, Destiny has a pvp mode, but it's always felt like it's more about pve than pvp. I think either you guys gotta accept w.e this pvp is and just bite the bullet or find your pvp urges elsewhere. Because all I see is nerfs and buffs to most stupidest things and meta changing in a way that no1 asked for. Classes go against each other and trash one another when bungie is the one flipping the switch and making these changes. I'm calling it out now. And like many have before. Pvp in this game will never ever be close to anything, what most of you want, and I'm sorry, but abilities are also a big part of destiny. If you want guns only, they either need to make a mode specifically for that or find some other game. Frankly, since they won't make this mode permanent for guns only. Means it ain't that popular. At least not enough for them to make it, or maybe the q times for other modes or all gotten so bad they just decided not to add it and make it like a once a month type event. Anyways, pvp in this game has always and will always be garbage. If you guys still here praying for something after all these years? It's on you

1 commentaireDestiny pvp isn't a real competitve pvp
-
2 commentairesYep I agree! The PvP feels so one sided in Trials and higher tier competitive play & there are major hit registration and timing issues. On top of that there are still Cronus Zen cheaters and more. Something is severely off when players pre-shoot corners while landing every shot as a headshot, never miss, carbon copy the same streamer builds, and teleport around from frame rate/lag issues. It's not fun, especially in Trials, to just get constantly steam rolled by gate keepers! I can't believe this is still happening even after leaving this game for the past 3+yrs.

Be nice if there was anyone left to even see this at Bungie
-
i'm still waiting for the idiots at bungie to fix our usernames i haven't been able to get my name back for over 2 weeks because they are too stupid to fix the issues they create

Trials of the "This Works Like This This Time" is fun.

Exactly plus now I have done the passage of persistence to just get the extoc rifle and two of the three times I have done all that was required but no adept weapon lol. Just a joke
