Why does everything have to take a million years? Genuinely who’s the design team lead and why did they do this?
Not every wants to grind away for a million years just for a gun or a cloak.

1 commentaireYeah I don't fully understand why everything has to be turned in to a puzzle these days. I'm fine with things being a grind over time but when I'm in an instance I don't want to have to be stuck there doing the same thing 67 times. It's not even challenging, it's just time consuming and boring. More shooting, less puzzling!

The changes implemented were to spike activity metadata so Bungie can report higher consistent play rates. One way of doing that is by making enemies larger health pools increasing the amount of time to kill. Another way is to decrease player damage (the other end). Both of these contribute to "bullet sponging". Another is to make the guardian more fragile so missions have to be repeated due to death, taking more time, or playing very cautiously, taking a bit more time. They are conflating time engagement with enjoyment rather than making fun/novel encounters. "Go here for 20+minues... Great! Now do that 2 more times! Amazing! Now rush through this mission with one other person only" While I am fairly familiar with the gaming industry (overwhelmingly tabletop), there are books like "The Secret Science of Games" definitely opened my eyes to the behavioral science leveraged in videogames

To be fair, there are people already claiming that they are out of things to do, even though there are plenty of challenges and rolls to chase. For missions like Khvostov, the worst part was the bug that prevented the proper drop, which made it seem much longer personally. The Cyst missions were not too terrible, except for that one hidden in the crevice within Aerial Ace, which was particularly evil. However as Ergo Sum is farmable from running the same activities, I was still running Overthrows repeatedly. Now that my Exotic Class Item is unlocked, I am also getting those to drop as well. I find it is much easier to tackle multiple missions at once to alleviate some of the grind, if this helps. Occasionally that means waiting a few weeks as well. That said, it does suck when there is too much grind for something that isn't worth it, like the MIDA Multitool Catalyst but lately it feels a lot easier than it used to.

9 commentairesModifié par Spicy Water : 6/22/2024 5:24:34 PMBack in my day, you had to spend an hour running around the Dreadnaught picking up hadium flakes just for a legendary sword. Then you had to kill 10 bosses/50 minibosses with it, then 25 guardians, then a special Dreadnaught mini boss named Ecthar after killing his friends within a few seconds of each other. THEN you had to collect “special” planetary materials depending on sword element (planetary materials but they only occasionally drop when collecting, and are only a thing for this quest) get 500 pve or 100 pvp kills with matching subclass abilities, and wait until the next Wednesday. Then do a special version of the Alak-Hul strike where you need to kill your specific element knight less than 30 seconds before Alak-Hul. Then you get to do it all again if you want the other two swords. This is the type of quest that we got in what is widely regarded as one of if not the greatest piece of content the Destiny franchise has ever received. The vocal minority that remains on these forums could not fathom the concept of an exotic quest that requires any sort of time/skill investment (namely time on this one, though I’m sure people would complain about needing to step into pvp too. Thorn required more skill iirc, I don’t think I ever got it. I never complained about not getting it, because I’m not a loser). Tl;Dr: The Destiny community has fallen to instant gratification, billions must complain that the game doesn’t automatically unlock everything for them.

1 commentaireYou would have hated the OG D1 Outbreak and Thorn quests.
-
1 commentaireStill easier than D1 exotic drops 👌
-
A quest takes time...period.

8 commentairesModifié par JD : 6/22/2024 9:11:51 PMIt’s about time we got a grind for some things. You must’ve never played D1. If you don’t want to grind don’t get the items. You don’t need them for anything. Maybe don’t play a MMO then lol
-
Not everyone wants everything just handed to them on login. Seeing as how you can't please everyone, that's just how things shake out some times.
-
2 commentairesOnly one that's tedious is Khvostov.
-
That's because the dlc is empty, lol. What I mean is, there isn't much to do, really. We still running the same crap
-
Agreed, everything is tedious and a pain in the rear end.
-
1 commentaireYou mean your tired of every encounter being find out how to turn of enemies magic space shield?
-
To get a good idea about the Destiny grinder, I urge you to view the banana game on Steam.
-
Then don't ? I see people complaining about what is new all the time . If you don't like it then why are you wasting your time on it ?
-
1 commentaireYeah, indeed after a cutscene I should be given everything because I don’t like playing the game.
-
2 commentairesI believe the only thing this 'community' on the forums does not find tedious is if the game just played it self while yall went on tik tok.

12 commentaires
Not every wants to grind away for a million years just for a gun or a cloak.
You're right, but in that same vein there are those of us that would grind away for these cloaks and guns and these pieces of gear are for us and not people that don't want to do it. Put in the work. Get the stuff. If you're lazy or can't be bothered, don't. Seems like a fair trade to me sweetie.

Not every wants to grind away for a million years just for a gun or a cloak.
After doing most of the exotic quests from D1? These D2 exotic missions are cakewalks. D1 Thorn, D1 Outbreak Perfected, the exotic swords, D1 Touch of Malice, all come to mind.

3 commentairesModifié par IAGNRG : 6/22/2024 11:22:18 PMI don’t think any of them have been that tedious? Which we referring to.

2 commentairesMore playtime = more money 🤑
-
You might just be burnt out. Destiny's been going for 10 years.
-
I mean to be fair, it's always been how they keep players playing. Forced gameplay I guess. Will probably always be this way too
-
Would your rather the game played for you, so you got the good gear, then you can stare at it, with no reason to use it because you don’t want to play the game anyway?
-
3 commentairesIt's simple can't see why people cry at the first sight of a challenge 🤔 🤣🤣

Umm the grind isn't that bad took me a couple of hours to beat the campaign. And got most pale heart weapons craftable which doesn't take ages and got my light level high again didn't take long. Try relaxing and not taking things so seriously
