I'm very impressed with the frequency of the updates we are getting and the increased communication. A lot of what's coming could be pretty big Ws for PvP.
- Checkmate is excellent and they have already performed weapon tuning with more to come
- Mid-season patch is addressing some serious PvP pain points
- SBMM is getting nerfed
- Spawn tuning
- Getting a 3v3 rotator playlist (we've need a casual 3v3 playlist for a while)
- Comp weapon focusing and also Comp rank adjustments
All of these sound great. If they can get the foundation of PvP (matchmaking, rewards, sandbox) in a good spot, plus consistent injections of new content (maps, game modes, experiences), I'm gonna feel pretty good about the future of PvP.

I wouldn't say any of it sounds good at all, but then again - I will not play any of it longer than a few hours per season, so I don't really care. Sbmm is already just a name, it's got nothing to do with actual sbmm, cause it's so insanely wide it's barely an outlier protection at this point. We had sbmm for a month, 2 maybe, then it was reduced to almost nothing.

1 commentaireModifié par Justin68687112 : 10/15/2023 8:57:45 PMIt is extremely disappointing to see this post. Bungie throws less than a dozen people together, calls them a "strike team" to imply they are serious business, and ya'll cave for it as if Crucible didn't used to be dozens and dozens of employees doing significantly more work than this. There used to be so many people that worked on PVP, and they were making different modes, changing spawns, changing ammo economy nonstop, and dropping so many new maps every year. But sure, let's have a handful of people make 1 map every few years and throw out a modifier or mode every once in a blue moon, and pat em on the back. Let's give Bungie props for moving their tenured and more skilled game developers/coders to Marathon instead, and having completely new people operate Crucible. My God... You realize there was a time, not that long ago infact, the WORST day (nothing to do whatsoever) in Vanilla/Forsaken era see about 2-5 million logins? www.Destinytracker.com when you make every player quit your game, you don't have money to make your game decent, which leads to more quitting. I'm trying to remember but I believe it was Shadowkeep I seen 1.8-2.1 million on the days of the season there was no story. See ya after Final Shape! (Just kidding, I won't because this franchise is literally dead). For the record, don't be the idiot that say you add the PVE total logins to the PVP total. PVE logins is the amount of people that been in orbit, the PVP total will never exceed the PVE total on Destiny Tracker.

18 commentairesI'm a little sad / concerned about SBMM getting nerfed in Quickplay... It's already very loose. Any "looser" and it won't be much different from CBMM

1 commentairePvP appears to be more headed in the right direction than it has in a long time or possibly ever in terms of what good PvP for this game could really be. Don't know about anyone else but this is actually the least "worried" about its future that I've been in a while.

8 commentairesModifié par Synge_X : 10/13/2023 2:51:07 PMI wish I could enjoy PVP in this game but it’s just extremely exhausting and manipulative. I get the bright idea to play Iron Banner/PVP for the first time in months… and wow, I sat down and had a really good time… in the back of my mind I knew… I knew it was just a trick. I knew that as soon as I had a good time with the game and started popping off, it was only a matter of time before the game started to literally put me on the losing team every match… and then the lag, and players not taking damage. I don’t know if it’s anyone else’s experience, but it’s mine… the game draws me in, and then eventually disrespects my time by giving me a bad gaming experience repeatedly.

1 commentaireModifié par TheShadow : 10/13/2023 1:24:56 PMWhat team, the people that don't play their own game to actually see how things play out before making adjustments? The team that a rumor is going around that they said they never had one so some random people were thrown at this making things up as they go along? You know, because only going off charts and what the top 1% of players say is how you developed things, not play testing or playing the game because it's just a job 🤦♂️ This looks like more talk than anything else as usual to try to keep some players around, and even then what will they break?

2 commentairesThe crucible is still absolute trash. Checkmate is horrid. They just made special ammo for more "special". They need to get away from specials and supers in crucible. Make it actual gun play. Then they need to make it to where only crucible weapons are allowed in the crucible. They won't though. They don't know how to make an actual good pvp game mode. The incompetence is overwhelming

"Strike Team" Hahahahahaha...

The avg elo from the tracker is seeming to get drastically closer. Use to be miles apart generating these one sided games.

I’d like to see them completely fix and revert their terrible changes to rift, but they have been doing consistently good work

2 commentairesWhere is the link for all this?

PvP Strike team should walk into the office area of the weapon team for IB and slap them for bows.

One can hope pvp isn’t forgotten about any longer

Modifié par eeriearcade : 10/13/2023 9:20:54 AMIn my view, it’s pretty similar to the changes and communication we’ve been getting for a while. - Checkmate is a good way to offer more focus on gunplay, without messing with the whole Crucible (I think it was in development before the strike team was announced). - SBMM getting nerfed is likely to do with low population. - Spawn tuning is welcome. - Another 3v3 playlist is also welcome (playlist changes could also be a reaction to low population). - Comp changes are long overdue (the playlist still requires a serious injection of loot). Matchmaking is always going to be an issue in this game. Loot and maps are still lacking. I don’t anticipate major changes, just a little bit more of what we’re already getting. Always worth remembering PvP is a free-to-play side activity in a PvE focussed game (apart from Trials which requires DLC purchase).

Yeah, im not gonna hold my breath on SBMM being nerfed. (I read the twab. I'll believe it when I see it)
-
Funny how it only took them a decade to figure it out.

1 commentaireYeah, it’s been almost ten years and they’re not even close to figuring things out. Applause all around. 🥔

14 commentairesI'm interested yo hear more about the rewards on flawed cards under 7 win streak within trials. Wonder what that means 🤔 If it's what I think it is, it might stop some of the weirdos who cry about certain loot in trials from well... crying. Although it's probs more about normal rewards.

1 commentaireI dunno, I've been playing iron banner and it's pretty miserable....

Happy (momentarily) for you guys.

19 commentairesWhen is mid season? I hope they see they lost longtime pvp mains like myself because of sbmm. All because Jimmy and timmy need a safe space for their three weekly games for a prime engram.

6 commentairesLet me know when they actually address the crossplay lag that to me is killing the game . If it stays sbmm it will hurt it even more because of trying to fight both factors sbmm and crossplay lag .Pvp is pointless if your fighting and can't hit the target 😕.

The changes are good. Exited about the 3v3 modes. While sbmm is good for the blueberries, it makes getting into a match take longer and i think it might be the biggest culprit to poorly balanced lobbies. Ive had control matches where i top fragged with 28 opp defeated and 2.0 And the second fragger coming at 11 kills and .78kd. Meanwhile the other team all goes positive. And thats with me capping zones. That type of lobby balancing shouldnt happen.
