Trials this season feels nice yet terrible. Some of the overarching changes to the game (on top of old ones) have made it feel super satisfying at times or a total beatdown.
Matchmaking
Matchmaking is wonky for some reason. I've already had 2 games where it starts off as a 1v3 or a 2v3. It's not like it matched a 3rd person, it just started without one.
Why allow the game to start with this setup? In a gamemode like Trials where numbers is the biggest advantage you can have (besides Meltdown having a heavy spawn that heavily favors one side on top of one of the flag spawns), why is this even a thing?
Zone Control
Quite frankly one of the most idiotic decisions ever made for Trials. It inherently entices people to use Well or Bubble on point. Why make this decision when you knew the outcome? I know for a fact that Bungie collected data before phasing out Elimination. This just seems incredibly stupid for a gamemode focused on competition when you're making the whole match about who can pop Well or Bubble on point first. I feel like the gamemode would feel more enjoyable if those options were heavily considered from the get-go.
As for weapons, no complaints really. A lot of it comes down to gunplay and that seems ok right now. You have a lot of options to choose from this season.

Zone cap is, and has always been, total garbage. I get the want for an objective. I support that want. Zone cap is a -blam!- answer to that want.

5 commentairesDon't worry, Bungie now has a PvP strike team. They mean business y'all. Seriously! Stop laughing! They have a strike team!

1 commentaireI would be just as angry if I didn't have conditional finality. It one-shots bubbles. I hope it never gets nerfed because it's the only counter to those things.

6 commentairesI don't know about the matchmaking, but I strongly disagree about Zones. Well and Bubble are LESS viable in Domination Trials than Classic Elimination Trials. The rounds are shorter, and players are less likely to camp spawn for supers. In Classic Trials, supers could come up during rounds 2 or 3, but with Domination Trials, supers rarely show up until Rounds 3 or 4, even if things play slowly.

trials is a mess right now. first match I play people with 11 flawless this week

Maybe do a roaming king of the hill mode like halo. I think that would solve the control point camping and actually require a more dimensional style of play. Even in IB that would be fun for certain modes. ?? Like watching the control point slide away from a bubble or well after a certain amount of time. Now that be very, very satisfying to observe and could possibly level the playing field a bit between players / classes.???
