Anyone else scared of Hive Eris?
So far, I am really enjoying the new season! But, I am a little... uhhhh... terrified of hive Eris. The story is headed in a really cool direction, I just hope Eris doesn't get lost and become even worse than Xivu.
Anyone else have any (leak free) thoughts on where we could be headed with Eris? Just looking to start conversation!

I'll be upset if, at the end of the season, Eris just rejects the temptation/corruption and goes back to being regular Eris with no cost or consequences. That's what I expect to happen, because the mainline writing has been pretty bad for a while ... but that'd be the most boring direction to go in. Eris becoming a villain would be more interesting. It works, she kills Xivu. It works too well, she kills Savathun (we need to see the Hive god of lies get tricked). Eris rules the Hive and decides she can beat The Witness if she gains strength from wiping out humanity and we spend the next two seasons stopping her. If Eramis gets taken out along the way that clears the board of named villains save The Witness and sets us up nicely for a 1 on 1 with him in Final Shape.

Truthfully, I am not scared of Hive Eris. I am more corcerned of this ritual going. I remembered reading a lore where The Last City fell and Eris turn against the Vanguard. That one right there is my biggest concern.

1 commentaireHonestly I think it will suck if she beats Xivu arath(not sure on spelling) herself and we never fight her in a raid some time in the future or Eris just goes back to normal at the end of the season.It would be cool if Eris becomes the new hive threat sometime in the future.

5 commentairesI feel we've been here with her before: Eris is doing something that could end poorly for us... but she always pulls through. I think we are totally supposed to be concerned about the Dark Future parallels, but I don't think they are actually going to make Eris evil in the end. In the end, I think it will be revealed that by Ikora, our Gaurdian, and other influential characters being intimately involved in this process, Eris will never be alone enough for the corruption to take hold.

Over and over again, people have doubted her and she has proven them wrong again and again. I trust Eris. She has ascended to become an even cooler character in this story.

1 commentaireI’ve wondered if this is going to be part of the dark future that the stranger talks about. She might kill Xivu arath and savathuun. Then take control of the hive. Would make for one hell of a start to the end of the final shape. Although I think it would take away from the ending of the final shape. So if I had to bet money it would be on eris struggling hard with it but also coming out on top.

Vengeance, as a narrative character motivation, oftentimes either consumes a character and drives them to their own demise or helps them overcome their loss and grow from their experience. Eris has lost so much to Hive. The bigger question here is, can Eris overcome, or will she be consumed? As for working with Immaru and Lucent Hive, an alliance built upon a mutual hatred is fragile thing a best, I fully expect this to come back and bite us in the butt somehow.
