From the start of destiny till this moment I’ve no clue what balanced is supposed to look like in this game.
Every time I turn around the balance issues have never been solved.
Obviously 🙄
So please resident genius’s point out what has ever been balanced in this game?
What is it ?

2 commentaires30th anniversary sandbox was the best for pvp imo

The closest it's probably ever been was when PvP was 4v4, dual primaries, Shotguns, Snipers and fusions were, wait am I remembering this right? Heavies? Yeah, that sounds right. It actually played a bit like Halo, and people didn't like it. I probably didn't either, but in retrospect, seems like Bungie was on to something.

We're getting there.

Seeing the title and the stern Petra Venj profile pic gave me a good chuckle. Thanks for making my night.

It looks like Y1. Which was horribly boring.
-
A boring game
-
The game will never be balanced and I don’t think players would like balance because it gets boring
-
My idea of balance would be balancing a knife on the tip of my finger as Thanos whispers sweet nothings in my ear.
-
Depends who you ask.

It’s always been a moving target, but bungies shooting at it with a nerf gun from too far away. They make a change, players adapt and realize something else is busted from past buffs intended to bring it up. Without a constant stream of updates and a crystal clear vision of their goal, it’s impossible to balance this game. and even if they had those things, it would be unrealistic to pursue. People scream for balance focused changes while abusing everything in the book. I don’t think destiny players truly want competitive balance, we literally had something damn close with vanilla d2 and the game died. The flip was it’s most popular period when nonsense like lunas howl and recluse were op. players don’t actually want balance but crazy fun with enough updates to keep it from getting stale/annoying. If bungie wants pvp to be alive and thriving, abandoning a competitive minded change alongside a constant stream of fresh updates, it’ll come back to life. All that said and done, there’s no real money in any of that, esports isn’t going to make them money nor is people having fun in pvp compared to people playing pve with how the game’s currently monetized. So why even bother

The game won't ever be balanced. Bungie doesn't know how to tune something. They either give it way too much or not near enough. Then when they find the sweat spot and everyone is happy....the have to go insta change things saying its broken and screw the problem again.

To be fair when people talk about what is balanced and what is unbalanced, its more about keeping this as balanced as possible, acheiving 100% perfect balance in a game like destiny is probably impossible but thats not a reason for bungie to ignore certain outliers in the sandbox
-
Pong. Pong is balanced. Chess and checkers are balanced. Trying to balance Destiny * is a mugs game, because you can't eliminate the effects of network latency (because it isn't steady state, it is dynamic and changing around means.)

1 commentairethe closest to balance Destiny has ever gotten was D2 vanilla: static rolls, double primaries, special weapons as heavies, long cool downs, etc. and no one liked it. looter shooters shouldn't even try to be balanced, we need more gimmicky arcade pvp modes like mayhem. for instance, a mode where we can equip exotics in every slot (also make a strike playlist like that). and for those that really want balance give them a pvp mode with no supers or abilities, and specific loadouts to choose from with basic gunsmith weapons.

You can not balance a game that is fundamentally broken. Nobody starts at equal footing in Destiny 2.
-
-blam!- balance, everything should be op x a trillion, how about an exotic that could buff your fireteams dps so much you one shot a raid boss How about a PvP weapon that can kill the entire opposing fireteam at once if certain conditions are met , with no cool down How about an exotic that lets Hunters attack while invis, and one that gives Titans infinite shoulder charge , and Warlocks permanent Arc soul separate from there Rift A power fantasy game should let you feel powerful , not handicap you if you are actually able to kill something

I’d say closest thing pvp wise we ever had to balance was right before 30th anniversary launched. Other than a few outliers everything felt pretty good.
-
To be far this is an incredibly hard game to balance
-
Balance is finding a kid called Anakin. They say he will bring balance to the Force. They were wrong. It was always Yoda! Find Yoda, and you will find balance. But this game can’t have Yoda. So they settle with 2 hamsters running inside a wheel on each side of a seesaw! Bwahahahahahaha!!! Welcome to hollowness!

Something close to Y1 D2, but I personally attribute its failure mostly to the ridiculously high TTK's which encouraged holding hands and discouraged 1v1 situations or risky plays. It would've been interesting to see how such a sandbox would have played out with the current TTK values. Maybe the new pvp gamemode will offer something along those lines.

No idea about balance in this game, as someone who has 4k+ hours logged into league of legends balance is one class(mage, fighter, Tank etc)being over powered for a short time before nerfs and buffs. Seeing we only have 3 classes, but tons of weapons I'd have a seasonal rotation of weapons that get buffs and nerfs, too keep it fresh
