• Kinda'... we're Savathun's Champion ... confirmed. People have not woken up from how profound the secret Whetstone lore is. We're the Mothmen. We're the bad guys. And it's been that way since Gepetto baited Saint-14 into getting the colonists massacred. It started with the Black Garden... everything we've done has been for our Queen. Arecibo told us, Toland told us... now Xivu told us as the base of the veiled statue in Whetstone.

Savathûn is all about planning/scheming, lying, trickery and turning truths around on themselves. Let’s say that in her eyes, Oryx rising in any possible manner would be the truth. In the most likely case, she could have been referring to the eventual ritual attempt in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon. It is hinted during this season that she knew where Oryx’s corpse had fallen for quite some time given the pre-existing presence of her brood on Titan since the Red War days, and eventually Xivu Arath found this out too.
If anything, the fact that Oryx’s corpse had fallen there may very well be one of the main reasons why the Hive ended up on Titan at all with exception to Ahsa also having lived there in hiding.
Were the Hive Wizard successful, Oryx may have possibly been resurrected and were Savy to consider this with complete disregard for us intervening, it could be truth to her had things went the way she planned them to. Or it could also be a lie, if she did consider the alternative. That said, it could also be interpreted in the same kind of play on words in the manner that the Ahamakara(bones) are known to do. Take that into account and the fact that Bungie brought back the reprised version of D1’s Taken King raid. In this case, it would also be true, albeit in a more roundabout way that doesn’t play directly into the lore. All that said, it is stated by some accounts that the same Guardian responsible for Oryx’s death never claimed/had Taken his Throne/right so it’s plausible that it is completely unrelated to us.

      • We're not the Taken King, but we're... absolutely... the puppets of the Witch Queen. You know what? Scratch that... We've done more for Savathun than Oryx ever did as her Champion... and we just helped her take Ahsa (my theory). We are the Mothmen... same as the sentient Hive were. I think... it could be said that we've, basically, ran things like a King.
