The Witness’ existence doesn’t at all disprove the Winnower’s existence. Look at the statues of the veiled woman surrounding the Pyramids and their architecture. That’s a depiction of the Winnower. And something had to create the Traveler, therefore the Gardener also exists.
Something also had to create the force that we call Light and the force that we call Dark. Hence the Gardener and the Winnower.
These things don’t just come from nothing.

I see your point, but this is a video game. I doubt Bungie is just gonna take the realism route and just have them be normal -blam!- primordial forces and not have these other characters who are godlike entities behind them.
I see your point, but this is a video game. I doubt Bungie is just gonna take the realism route and just have them be normal -blam!- primordial forces and not have these other characters who are godlike entities behind them.
Wdym they are already described that way as forces of ruin
-
They’re described as “forces”, yes, but that doesn’t mean that the Winnower and the Gardener aren’t ACTUAL characters.
-
They’re described as “forces”, yes, but that doesn’t mean that the Winnower and the Gardener aren’t ACTUAL characters.
My guy they fought in the flower game and were said to communicate with each other. I didn’t realize that objects can talk with each other ima put my chair and a rock outside together and see them talk
-
My point exactly. If they were just “primordial forces” then how would that whole game have played out? They have to be real characters
-
My point exactly. If they were just “primordial forces” then how would that whole game have played out? They have to be real characters
Another person who doesn’t understand the primordial forces are entites trope?
-
What…? What are you even saying at this point? I’m trying so hard to understand you. I’m saying they MIGHT BE actual entities because it would make sense. In a video game. Which this is.
-
What…? What are you even saying at this point? I’m trying so hard to understand you. I’m saying they MIGHT BE actual entities because it would make sense. In a video game. Which this is.
Why do you keep specifying that we are talking about a game, no one here has implied that we are discussing real life. Also you clearly understand me, idk why you act like your having a hard time
-
I am having a very difficult time because it feels like we agree on this topic but you’re going around in circles for no reason and it’s just confusing as hell
-
I am having a very difficult time because it feels like we agree on this topic but you’re going around in circles for no reason and it’s just confusing as hell
Im not going around any circles im just saying its a trope that primordial forces are usually entites and from the unveiling book it seems like Light/Dark are
-
And I’ve been saying the same thing over and over so why are we going around and around?
-
And I’ve been saying the same thing over and over so why are we going around and around?
Because you keep telling me you don’t understand
-
I haven’t told you that at all.

Modifié par Gilgamesh : 4/5/2023 2:20:18 PMYou told me
What…? What are you even saying at this point? I’m trying so hard to understand you. I’m saying they MIGHT BE actual entities because it would make sense. In a video game. Which this is.
You literally say you don’t understand
-
Because the way you talk is strange. It’s hard to understand you. But I also said I’m thinking we actually agree on this topic so what I also didn’t understand was why we were going back and forth on something we actually do agree on
-

Its not even a insult, when you are the only person to have told me that theres no way I messed up

Then where did the gardener and winnower come from???
-
It’s explained in unveiling. Once upon a time,* a gardener and a winnower lived** together in a garden.*** * It was once before a time, because time had not yet begun. ** We did not live. We existed as principles of ontological dynamics that emerged from mathematical structures, as bodiless and inevitable as the primes. *** It was the field of possibility that prefigured existence. They existed, because they had to exist. They had no antecedent and no constituents, and there is no instrument of causality by which they could be portioned into components and assigned to some schematic of their origin. If you followed the umbilical of history in search of some ultimate atavistic embryo that became them, you would end your journey marooned here in this garden.

Yeah, some weird stuff.

That we don’t know. Probably been here since the Big Bang. And we all know how that happened.
