[b]Overview[/b] Control is one of the playlists available in the Crucible PvP mode, where Guardians fight to control zones. The objective in Control is to control zones, where Guardians run up and stand inside a zone to capture it, so that they can capture the zones. The biggest benefit of capturing a zone, which a Guardian does by standing in it, is that each kill is multiplied by the number of zones that Guardians currently have captured. In order to capture a zone, a Guardian needs to stand inside of it, so that the zone is considered captured. [b]Basic Strategies[/b] When capturing a zone, by standing in it, a Guardian has to run up to the zone and stand inside of the zone to capture it. Unfortunately, running through or around the zone, which should be stood in, does not count toward capturing the zone. A Guardian has to stand in the zone in order to capture it. Fortunately, the more Guardians that are standing in a zone to capture it, the faster that zone is captured, which happens to be the objective of this particular playlist. Ideally, your team of Guardians control two zones on the map to ensure an advantage on each kill that your fellow Guardians do while they control zones on the map. The big thing about that though, is that you have to stand inside the zones in order to capture them. This means that the player has to navigate his Guardian to the zone, and then stand in it to capture it. [b]Advanced Strategies[/b] Once your team has two or more zones, which are captured by standing inside the zone, it is then possible to [i]defend[/i] these zones. Unfortunately, the other team can capture the zone back by standing in it. That means that you will have to kill them, and then move to the zone, and then stand in it. Doing so will show you an indicator that you're capturing the zone, which you can do by standing in the zone. Advanced Guardians will even move around in the zone, to make it harder for enemy Guardians to shoot them while they're capturing the zone. It's important that you don't run too much until you've captured the zone while you're in it, otherwise you'll leave the zone and not capture it, which is the objective of this particular playlist. What's neat about capturing zones is that, typically, the more you control the majority of the zones (by standing in them to capture them), you have a greater chance of winning the match. Winning the match can mean greater rewards, and you can win the match by standing in zones to capture them, so that you and your fellow Guardians get more points per kill. [b]Conclusion[/b] Control can be very challenging for new players, who are learning things like object permanence in a video game. But it's easy to overcome-- just look for the zones to capture, and ensure you stand in them, and you'll have a better chance of winning, which you do by capturing zones. Good luck, Guardian!
