(Thire reaches around and fires at the eye)

Unfortunately the angle was too steep to land a shot. If you were going to try an attack, you’d have to get clever, otherwise you’d best focus on finding a way off the arm before it crushes you against the wall.

“Well, that didn’t work. Maybe I should get back to the ground, and then reevaluate from there.” (Thire pushes off of the arm and jumps back to the ground)

Unfortunately, the momentum of the arm kept you from leaping upwards, and the only way you could manage to get off was down, causing you to crash painfully into the floor. It served its purpose, though, and you managed to slip off before the arm crashed into the wall. If you were hoping for an easy shot on the eye, however, you'd be disappointed, as it immediately fired another laser beam--this one not trailing along the ground, and instead heading straight for you!

(Thire pulls a Matrix style dodge and unloads his guns into the eye) “Hey, vine freak! Your mother was a potted plant!”

Unfortunately, the beam is not a bullet, and all it took was a light adjustment of its hand for it to strike you squarely in the chest. You were pushed down against the ground, the beam rushing against you. You could feel it burning your flesh(?), and applying an intense pressure downwards. You manage to fire off a few bullets, but just like before the beam was able to deflect them.

“Now what?” (Thire attempts to push himself off of the ground and away from the beam)

Unfortunately, the beam has you locked in place. To escape you'll likely have to use your head! Alternatively, you could try to wait it out, but taking that much damage couldn't be great for your health...

“Hmm… use my head…” (Thire pulls off his head and throws it at the vine freak)

Your head flies forwards, and falls right back into the beam. This may have seemed like a bad thing, but it managed to deflect the laser just enough to give you a moment to slip out from underneath! Your head soon after crashed into the ground, and bounced around the room, landing on the floor a good ways away. Still, you were free from the beam, though it was readjusting its aim…

[spoiler]Julian here is a bit larger than the other vein monsters; you'll have to be a bit more specific where you're aiming your grenade.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Alignment named him. I thought it was funny, so that’s his name, now. Are you aiming for the hand or the arm? It’s pretty big, so that’s a fairly significant difference. :p[/spoiler]

[spoiler]While we're talking in spoilers anyway, one thing I think I forgot to mention is that generally speaking, the more creative your attacks are, the higher chance they have to succeed.[/spoiler] The beast tries to swat the grenade away, but it explodes on his wrist, causing the laser to stop. It grabs its wrist, holding the eye away from you. Its mouth opens again, and it shoots out a burst of blue fire towards the ground, which shoots out in a large wave to cover most of the floor.

[spoiler]I’m running low on ideas outside of blades, bullets and explosives. Is there anything else I can do without making my character overpowered?[/spoiler] (Thire aims an anti-tank rocket launder at its face and fires)

[spoiler]Well, it’sless about having a wide variety of powers, more about how you use them. That said, it is very easy to impress me with some nifty grappling hook action. Setting up clever grapple combos is one of the big reasons I love Sakuna so much![/spoiler] Your shot explodes, knocking its head backwards, but it doesn’t stop the flames from coming. You weakened the first wave to keep it from hurting too much as it passed, but as his head went backwards it made a large wall, that was heading for you in its place!

[spoiler]Too wide to just roll out of the way of, but not much wider than that. Also, apologies for the slow responses. Work has been busy, Unfortunately, I have some plans later, so I probably won’t respond much today, either. :([/spoiler]

[spoiler]I guess I should specify; unless otherwise stated, the hands are pressed up against the ground, ergo, they can't be fired at freely. Also, when I said "can't be rolled out of the way", what I meant was a basic dodge wouldn't work. You'll need to block, or do something more drastic.[/spoiler]

(Thire grabs another riot shield and braces himself)

The flames push against the shield, slowing edging you back, as you steadily begin to lose your ground. As you block, the beast levels its mouth towards you, and the stream continues. It may be difficult to hold this up for too long…

(Thire slings the shield at the beast’s face in hopes of stunning it, runs to the right and fires)

Unfortunately, the flames creates a rather strong force heading in your direction, and so as soon as you try to throw the sheild, it flies back towards you, and knocks you to the ground. This also left you with a few light burns, but thankfully nothing serious. The beast halts its flames, and follows up by trying to crush you with its hand, while you're still underneath the sheild.
