My Name Is Not Offensive
For the past 9 years of my life I have been the GingerGeneral9 in all of my games that I play, it is what I am known as by my friends and family, I was very disheartened that at the beginning of the season of the lost my name was changed to Guardian1104. I am aware that some players in the community have offensive or outlandish names that need to be changed for the health and longevity of Destiny 2, however both myself and my little brother, GingerJuice23, have received in what we believe to be unjust name changes. Neither name is too long or offensive, my entire family is red haired and none of us consider "Ginger" to be a offensive term. Please can I get a response on what to do because this season is boiling down to a massive headache whenever we play together due to the fact that our names our now indistinguishable from each other, it makes playing with other people a nightmare. This is our identity, why are you changing it Bungie?

This forced name change borders on moronic. Is "ginger" a profane slur now? Did I miss a meeting? At the same time, I find myself matching players with horrible, vile, disgusting user names and reporting them seems to have no effect. I would post some here, but you can all guess what they are. Here's an idea: why doesn't Bungie force all existing and new players to be called Guardian1234#4321? And then later, once they've compiled their extensive and ludicrous permitted and non-permitted word lists, they allow players to change their names for a fee. Let's say 3000 Silver for the first change, but the price goes up with each consequent change, all the way to 8000 Silver, golf balls, legendary shards and all of your glimmer. Just so you know, take this thing seriously.

10 commentairesThe next step will be to remove all names with "boy/man", "girl/woman" and "white/black/yellow/red". After that i wouldnt be surprised if some letters will be entirely removed. X, F, H and U can be very offensive, you know? And while were at it, Numbers can be offensive too. 0 and 8 are bad numbers for example. You think im making this up? Sure, but this is exactly how those people doing it. They feel offended by everything and everyone.

I understand that Bungie is trying to protect the more "sensitive" people shall we say, but it's obvious that our ginger friend and his little brother in the OP, are deeply offended by having their original and harmless names removed.
