[BNG] S15 Windows 7 Launch Issues - Updated 9/16

Since the launch of Season of the Lost, players on Windows 7 haven't been able to launch the game.   • People paid for your game on the assumption that their hardware was adequate, you fail to deliver on said promise and drag your feet for weeks. Is this entering the realm of false advertising?

            Day 16. I lose my hope 3 days ago. Still nothing. Support must be outsorced. It's not possible to piss on your customers that much. People like me don't know what dev doing. We think they don't do anythink becoues they dont speak to us much. I start to think my 3000 h in d2 with my clan and all good memories with game was only a dream. That dreams are like a mirror image in the surface of water. This is happening on real or not. Do i have hallucinations or it's only a bad joke. I... I had ideas like.... throw here post like "HEY i have a solution !" and in link to yt add Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up. But that's ideas gone like a bad dream. Maybe i did't have ever any money to buy anythink. At the begging i was angry like others. Everyone can see this. But it's like my hope. Gone. Now i'm feel like in horror movie. Around me many people screaming like me on beginning. Do i ever play again? Will it end like jamming cutscens? Only i have now it's next emission and psi storm in COC.

            • I would like to "play nice" however since the update from the dark side my machine won't launch D2 and reports an application error 0xc000007b. That info by itself is useless in troubleshooting the issues so I would like to ask anyone out there if this Windows 7 problem of Destiny 2 not launching has been fixed yet? I have lost track of all the locations in cyberspace that players are submitting their take on this issue.

              • Not sure how to feel about update 4 but uuhh thanks for providing info at least. Deleted the files, back to waiting. I sure hope no one will get banned for using the fix, it will be extremely unfair imo.

              • @BNGHelp6 Any information at all about this issue on win 10? is it related, is it different cause with similar results, do you guys know what's causing it on win 10 or just found the cause on win 7? Any possible workarounds on win 10 for those who downgraded their machines just to play the game and still are stuck with the same bug even on win 10?

                • @BNGHelp6 PLEASE let us know if using the user provided fix will get us banned or not? These guys solved the problem literally faster than you and I already played with it for a little bit, but I fear this might be bannable and I will delete the files if its neccesary, but please tell us something for christ sake, we all love the game and want to play it but its just been so damn long.

                  • Bungie, Are we going to get these two files pushed by you officially, or are we still waiting on you to re-develop the code? It is about the be the second weekend we hit without being able to play the game we paid for and at the least, an update is required.

                    This is pathetic Bungie; you're removing comments because they reference the community developed fix, a fix to a problem you created because you didn't have the sense to properly test your product? Shame on you. A mature company would admit their mistake, advise those whom use any 'fixes' that it's their own risk and provide an official fix. I've been watching the development of this entire fiasco from day one; its sad how the conversation or lack of has devolved in censorship. Edit: 9/7/2021- So Bungie has decided to mute me on this topic- because I spoke the truth and they can't handle it anymore. People are starting to not handle your in ability to provide a simple fix, let alone an update. Seems to me, a $100 million company would be able to pick up the phone and make a few calls to their parent company and try to figure out how to ship 105 kilobytes worth of data down the pipeline so that all Windows 7 players could join in again. Heck, I've even seem comments indicating legal action. That becomes public knowledge...doesn't it? Edit: 9/8/2021- So Bungie has developed a 'fix' and are unsure when to deploy it. Considering that an entire user segment is unable to even launch the game, i'd say immediately after 'verification'. And i'm still prohibited from posting new comments. Pathetic and sad on their part. Edit: 9/9/2021-9/10/2021- its very shameful on Bungie's part that they allow a TROLL in the comments section [clint eastwood] (no, not the actual dude) but censor me because I spoke the truth and called them out on it. And likely no one will even read this comment again. such crap Bungie.

                      I must say that I have never been disappointed at a game like this before. To me this is a total disaster! It's been over two weeks already I cannot play a game I love to play with friends and I'm about to kick from my clan cuz of inactivity how you gonna fix that? The longer this goes the more I lost faith on Bungie so keep it up like that, the damage is done but you know what's really bother me? You guys didn't even apologized to the community for this problem or that I didn't see it and honestly it doesn't matter now! p.s: for some reason I wasn't going to buy the Witch Queen in next year anyway and I'd remember this absent as a "dark time" of my Destiny 2 journey... still, I love this game and hope for a fix on soon! (I'm just sad that I cannot play and have to wait you know!)

                          Come on BUNGIE, push the 2 required files out to us NOW... Work on a legit permanent fix which I'm sure includes a fix to the 2fps cutscenes we have been living with for a year now... I think I can safely speak for ALL of us affected, WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT A CUTSCENE FIX FOR 2 45SEC CUTSCENES, WE WANT TO PLAY THE PRODUCT WE PAID FOR A YEAR AGO! 2 dll files totaling 105kb is the totality of the issue, so why haven't yall pushed those out to us a week and a half ago... why is an armor shader issue higher up on the priority list then fixing, or hell bandaiding, an issue which causes a portion of the community from even being able to START THE GAME... And one more thing, why are yall threatening bans for people who use a work-around WE THE COMMUNITY figured out before those in your studio who literal job it is to figure this kinda crap out?!? I thought yall were all about the community helping eachother... work overtime, day and night, no holiday breaks, till this issue is resolved... this is totally unprofessional to the Nth degree, especially considering thisnissue would have been spotted before release by simply attempting to double click on the D2 icon on a win7 machine (you know a supported os) literally 30sec tops of "testing" could have spotted this issue months ago in development...

                            Since it's been [url=https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/taxday?iso=20210824T10&p0=234&msg=Season+of+the+Lost+released&font=serif]two complete weeks[/url] (going on three), will Bungie rework their Eververse schedule so that players who were locked out by this complete-lack-of-QA-testing will get another chance to acquire the stuff that is no longer available? IIRC there's already a first-week emblem that is no longer available.

                              We are in Week 3 now. Still no Fix. And no ETA. Somehow i get the feeling that UPDATE 4 was just to keep us calm and that there is no Fix at all. That it was just maundered to blur the announcement of Bans for those that use the Community Fix. Anyone sharing the same feelings - please upvote this Post. . Somehow its so obvious: Bungie was extremely fast to remove what has helped us out. Just hours later they warn us about exactly this Fix and at the same time they say they have a potential fix on their on - yet they still decline giving us an ETA and we heard - yet again - nothing since then. Maybe we wouldnt even have UPDATE 4 if this Community Fix didnt came up and we there still at UPDATE 3 by now … Its almost getting criminal right now! I would love to hear what certain lawyers have to say about this situation. Anyone in charge?!
