Its ok if you cannot reply right away. After posting this I am probably going to try out that thing humans do and lie dormant for several hours anyways.
Upon this day a strange traveler from planes afar wanders the streets of offtopic. This traveler is a tall humanoid figure, standing around 6’1”, who looks mostly akin to a normal human. But upon his head small horns rest, strange striped markings cover his face, and a long but thin tale extends from his body. Although the traveler has some more relatively normal characteristics for a human, like his medium length cut hair of a deep red color. But this is no normal traveler, for he is Stígandr the Tiefling.
Stígandr carries himself with almost a royal walk, and a curious look masks his face. For many things in the city seem new to him, but many more are akin to the cage which he came from. While he looks curious, he seems to be fending off a state of utter confusion. Almost as he wished not to sully his metaphorical armor with a weakness that could be exploited.
Upon seeing the old man, the tiefling smirks a bit. For Stígandr has pursued many acts of skulduggery before and mostly understands that a unsuspecting beggar may have the eyes and ears of the streets, carrying much needed and helpful Information. Although he fathoms little of quests and aid to come. The tiefling will walk over to the man and flip him a golden coin, marked with the strange symbols of a far away land.
“Pardon me good sir, but would you be as kind to assist a traveler. I beseech thee, for I require information that you may have.” He says charmingly

The man flings the coin back to the horned figure in one graceful motion. “I have no need for money, though your heart is in the right place. If it’s a guide you need, you may find better luck with the other townsfolk.” The old mans eyes are withered with age, but his gaze remains focused on the man.
-
The tiefling quickly and gracefully catches the coin before putting it away. “I need no guide, just eyes and ears upon thy streets incase a opportunity presents itself. If thou shan’t accept my coin than perhaps there doth be something that I can do for thee. Networking is important after all.”
-
The old man is startled. “That….it is. My apologies for assuming you were like most.” He beckons towards the market, signifying the general populace. “You say you seek an opportunity, but what do you think you can learn from that which doesn’t exist?”
-
“Now my friend, there is always something to be learned. Unless thou are implying that thou don’t not exist. Perhaps nothing can be learned immediately, but in time maybe. If the opportunity comes to help you than I shall, for later thou can help me.”
-
“It has nothing to do with what can be learned, it is the fact that at this moment, we are incapable of doing so.”
-
“Why art thou incapable of doing so? And how might I aid?”
-
“Our people are being picked off one by one. Our numbers at this point can’t even cover three quarters of the city. Each time we send someone out, we find….their remains.” The man looks ill from his recollection, but continues nonetheless. “scattered across the outskirts of the city, lying in dumpsters at each major travel point. We think it has something to do with companies wishing to force their way into the city. The council can only do so much to hinder them, but they seem to have found a loophole recently in the form of private contractors.”
-
“Hmmm, I see. Interesting. Well, perhaps I could be able to help thou in turn for help for thy own later down the line. I could use something to do.”
-
“We need you to find out who is behind this. This company seems interested in construction, and lately there’s been a sharp increase in said activity.”
