He's still an engram. Ana Bray is having a hard time putting him in an exo body. She asked crow for parts so hopefully everything works out.
Rasputin as an exo would be cool. He could also be smart and good in combat, he could just use a similar combat style that lord felwinter used (not including paracausal powers of course).

It would be cool if what I like to call SIDARTHA GOLEM 2 fails so rasputin uses SIVA to inhabit Felwinter’s body. He has control of both SIVA and the warsats. A split personality with Felwinter would be cool but that’s highly unlikely. He’d use Felwinter’s axe as his main weapon. Salidin would lop his head off a few times, of course.

There is a lore tab that suggests Rasputin will have the power of the light as Ana's ghost mixed some light with the data of Ras when they dl'd him into an engram. Now, originally since the Shadebinder class had a staff i thought for sure that was a nod to Ras being one. But as time moves on its more and more to me like he might be some sort of a Siva(corruption) type warlock. This is of course just wishful thinking. I do believe he as access to a Siva corrupted body of Felwinter i think, depending on whats left. Bungie could make it work if they really wanted too...

Doesn't the traveler need to bless someone in order to get light abilities. I know asher tried to grant people light but failed. But ghual was slightly successful with some of his abilities being light powers (dawnblade, nova bomb)

Im a bit vague on the specifics but Bungie has implied anyone can access the light, its just the Ghost gives us perfect control and an almost unlimited supply of it. From what i understand that is.

As for Ghaul, that wasn’t a drawback. He became more then mere physical material. He became something more, that we couldn’t take down. That’s why it woke up to smite him. Light without a Ghost has no limits and that’s more powerful then any Guardian.

It seems to appear that while the light and dark may or may not live in all things that only the pyramids or traveler can get you access. The darkness invited us to use stasis and plenty other people. Guardians a non guardians alike (exo stranger). So I don't think Ana's plan to give rasputin light would work well. I really have no idea how ghaul got it without the travelers blessing. Feel free to inform me.

It was in the game. It was taken from the Traveler and imbued into him mechanically. You should watch a play through of the Red War.
It was in the game. It was taken from the Traveler and imbued into him mechanically. You should watch a play through of the Red War.
I'm well aware of this. Buy how would the machine actually take light? Could you do the same with a pyramid ship?

I would say because it has to be able to interact with the universe. It was meant to be used. The Gardner made it for living things to use. So it has to be interacted with. Which for normal casual beings the first way would be by device, some may evolve to be able to take advantage of the raw power. Like the Taishibeth perhaps. I mean the Hive use machinery and high technological knowledge combined with hive magic to make Oryxs throneworld in the Ascendant plane come into his ship in the physical plane. Those weird thing Drifter encountered on the frozen planet could be contained with technology, so can Ghosts. It’s also the perfect Achilles heel. Like the Red War showed. Guardians are normally unstoppable yet a simple cage was all it took to take their power and leave them defenseless. Making it subject to mundane technology is a perfect solution to godlike power.

1. Speaker had a quote in the campaign where he says something along the line "the light exists in all things" The traveler isnt the source of all light(retcon flower game?), its the source of the Guardians light through ghost. Saint was dead and he was giving massive amount of light off by himself, also the Guardian accessed the light without a ghost's help in the story against Eramis. There probably are other examples but none i can think of atm 2. SIVA is a form of corruption, some might view it as an enhancement but if a guys wife comes out and she has replaced her limbs with SIVA i dont think he would like that tho the women might say im stronger now. To her she is enhanced, to him she isnt the same anymore. 3 As for Ghaul i suppose you could say drawback is a matter of perception, like with SIVA. (i haven;t read any lore regarding Ghaul's ethereal form} 4. Your saying Ghost is intentionally limiting us? A person's skill with the light is there own, that is why some Guardians are better than others. The ghost is there to help.

1. He has no clue. I mean literally, the only thing he ever got was faint images and feelings. He could barely make contact with it. 2. Swapping body parts for tech upgrades isn’t corruption, it’s cyborg. If there is malevolent AI behind it, puppeting people, then it’s corruption. SIVA isn’t an AI though, it’s a tool. 3. We saw him in that form for a minute while he talked. We don’t know if he could go back n forth or not. Wouldn’t consider becoming godlike a drawback. 4. I don’t think they do it themselves. I think they are more a valve. We get a small basic supply and then we make power on our own by killing and achievements.
-
1. Regardless of whether he knew or not he was right, the light in ourselves allowed the Guardian to break free of stasis and i believe helps keep us from being corrupted by darkness by shielding us. 2. SIVA is a corrupting force, the Rise of Iron was all about it. As i said before one might think changing themselves " say a tattoo" is beneficial. Others would not. If i woke up with a tattoo I would be pissed and view it as my "clean" skin is now ruined. 3. We don;t know if this was him being godlike, as far a we know he could have fallen apart after he began to move from that spot. He was already dripping. 4. Yeah pretty much, i think maybe Gaul took too much at once so his body could not handle it. Perhaps our ghost is partly there too make sure it doesn't happen to guardians.
-
We broke free not because of our light.. The darkness snuffed it out... Our ability to wield & command the darkness is why we broke out of eramis grasp
-
1. We used Darkness power to break free. 2. That was SIVA having been used by Rasputin. SIVA is a tool. It doesn’t corrupt. It’s a nanotechnology that transforms matter from one thing to another. You’re definition is arbitrary and redefines the word. 3. He did move around. Considering the Traveler woke up right then to stop him as opposed to letting us do it like we did all the other times. The differences is Ghaul. 4. He transcended mere physical flesh. His body is irrelevant. He self revived and became something more.
-
Interesting. I know you don't need to be a gaurdian to use the light or dark. So it would depend on how rasputin and Ana access it. The dark is to dangerous so the light is the best path.
-
After reading your post i realized that maybe the light has some drawbacks as well. Ghaul took the light en masse (i think) and without a ghost to properly control it, it may be why he had such a drastic change of appearance after we kill him. Moderation in all things i suppose.
-
I was thinking more of that the darkness would recognize rasputin and try to corrupt him similar to eramis. Though I would imagine the traveler isn't happy with him killing the iron lords. But I guess saving humanity from the almighty makes up for it.
-
Saladin would murder him.
