I play both and I think stasis was introduced poorly. The light subclasses have been "balanced= overnerfed" (not all but many). There was no stasis counter in the beginning. Then bungie continues with the imbalance by only giving one class biots that reduce freezing. There should have been introduced new mechanics and exotics to interact with stasis. Some example ideas: - solar subclasses get unfrozen when using an ability - exotics that make you harder to freeze like the titans boots - a frozen enemy takes no damage unless shattered / a specific fragment is used -teammates can shoot you out of ice / unfreeze you with abilities solar guns etc. It would have helped with build crafting. Those are just a few ideas of the top of my head, I'm not a game developer. It should have been clear to them that a Freezing immobilizing subclass is too overpowered in PvP when you are frozen for 5s and the TTK on average is under 1s... Really cool idea, poor execution. Also I feel buffing other subclasses to make them more interesting and offer a real alternative should habe been the first course of action... In PvE I like stasis, it feels "cool" and powerful. Now the consequence will be getting slightly worse subclasses because of poor pvp implementation... Those nerf wagons are really annoying ... Balancing is one thing, nuking entire classes is another... Anyways have a nice day!
