Yes. Agreed 100%. I stay out of PvP because I'm not that great and like you, I don't get any enjoyment or improvement by being farmed by top PvP players.
Unfortunately, the top players complained that they couldn't "have a relaxing game" because they always ended up against sweats.
Well yeah! When you're really good, you play people who are really good. Sucks, huh?
They didn't like that. To them, "having a relaxing game" translates to "farming noobs with very little effort."
To people who say that sbmm would not work because there aren't enough players, why do you think there aren't enough players?!
At this point bungie needs to do something. PvP is a toxic dumpster fire next to an ammunition factory.
Well yeah! When you're really good, you play people who are really good. Sucks, huh?
LOL they should take the high road so you can take the low road? Not quite. How it is is EXACTLY how casual pvp modes should be.

there is nothing casual about any pvp mode in this game
there is nothing casual about any pvp mode in this game
Yes there is, you go in, you play vs everyone else in non-competitive games

I'm not sure what you mean by high road versus low. If you mean in the actual sense of those terms then I'm not sure how that applies to what I wrote. If you're really good at something you generally compete with people who are of similar skill. If you're new or unskilled you would be up against people who are of lower skill. That keeps the game roughly even. If you think that means "taking the high road" then I think you may be reading a lot more into it than is written.

Why should good players take the high road (play the equivalent of an MLG tourney final bracket) so that you can take the low road (play practice vs bottom tiers)
If you're really good at something you generally compete with people who are of similar skill. The pick up game on the block with your neighbors is control or clash - where anyone that shows up plays. From timmy no thumbs that cant catch a ball to Jonny the blocks all star. If you show up you are in.

Iron Banner has sbmm. Just play that.

No it does not. The text about Freelance IB matching similar skill is a mistake Bungie admitted to. Currently all playlists except Survival favour connection quality in matchmaking, as they have since June 2020

Ya I meant to say Survival. Thanks.
