I agree. The last 700 or so tokens I turned into Shaxx gave me the same stuff we can get from Banshee, Drifter, Zavala, Rahool, and Hawthorne... nothing unique I didn't get a single crucible related item. Same with Vanguard tokens except you can actually get the occasional Vanguard shotgun or sniper but I got more gambit and recaster weapons from those tokens than anything else. Can't tell you how many Lonesome I got this season but its in the 100's

No it's not... Instead of getting rank up rewards in orbit you have to spend time between matches and go to the tower. How TF is it better?

If you don't go to the tower between matches, then you don't get the Powerful reward that raises your light level, so all the end of match drops are lower level than they could be. Overall, it will be slower to raise your light level, especially if you are used to playing with a stack of players, who now will likely have to go to the tower at different times.

The additional powerful reward drops that can continuously drop from playlists activities will still go directly into your inventory, those aren’t changing.
You already have to go to the tower to pick up your powerful rewards.
You are mistaken. Full Valor and Infamy rank-ups reward Powerful gear, and you get that as soon as you see the rank-up message filling your screen. Next season, though, you will have to go to see Shaxx to get them.
The additional powerful reward drops that can continuously drop from playlists activities will still go directly into your inventory, those aren’t changing.
There are no "Powerful" drops from end-of-match. You can only get "on-level" drops at best. Essentially, all end-of-match drops are constrained to what blues can drop at.

Essentially, all end-of-match drops are constrained to what blues can drop at.
This season they made it so that powerfuls will drop at the end of activities, usually in the form of higher level blues. Feel free to refer to the season 12 patch notes. I will also paste the section down below. It takes a week or two to hit the powerful cap now.
Once the character’s gear Power has reached the soft cap (1200 in Beyond Light), it will now be possible to receive small Powerful upgrades from some normal drops. These will come from strikes, Crucible, and Gambit as well as some Seasonal sources, and are not subject to daily nor weekly lockouts. These can drop until the Power Cap (1250 in Beyond Light).
Again, your rank up rewards will stack up at the tower. You do not need to stop after every match and go get them.
This season they made it so that powerfuls will drop at the end of activities, usually in the form of higher level blues
Those few-and-far-between +1 drops aren't going to do much to your light level compared to a +3 or +4. They are basically just more min/max fodder. Without the true Powerfuls, you won't be able to go up nearly as fast, so the "play 20 Crucible matches to level up" strategy won't work without a lot of tower visits.

Now all they need to do is move Palindrome Adept from GM NF to Valor resets.
Now all they need to do is move Palindrome Adept from GM NF to Valor resets.
Adept weapons should remain in higher level content. If palindrome were to be moved to crucible, put it in comp. Comp needs a reason to play it.

Or competitive, yeah. The only thing though is how would you make it farmable for its rolls? Would it just drop from competitive matches? I used Valor because that is farmable while Glory isn't.

Yeah, I guess.
