I mean to be fair, people on this forum have been asking to have tokens removed for years now

Ignorant players wanted tokens removed. They don't see how it's it's a more versatile system than reputation. If I want to save 10k tokens and cash for later, then so be it. Now we have to play a hamster wheel and grind the world loot pool within 3 months.

Even the tokens were a hamster wheel though. Save up tens or hundreds of thousands of tokens throughout one season, spend them all to hit max light in the next season, repeat. And not everyone is out here trying to grind the entire loot pool. Some folks just go for the stuff they specifically need for their sets. Say one guy wants to run a recov/discipline build. He'll farm until he has armor with the stats for it, then he'll stop actively farming armor. Are people seriously out here desperately struggling to farm 100% of attainable loot in this game? What happened to make them that neurotic?
