Wtf was that quest???
Traveler’s Chosen might be the worst exotic quest in Destiny history.
I just spent 4 hours:
- Playing D2 Year 1 content that doesn’t even make sense canonically as part of the quest.
- Investigating if Rasputin is still alive, while he’s shooting warsats into space, then playing EP (more old content) with active Rasputin towers. I even went to his Mindlab and he’s fully functioning. The entire purpose of having an “evolving world” is to change the game environment to sync canonically with the story. It doesn’t work when it’s half-assed.
- READING about pivotal moments in the game’s story. The Darkness is here, and we’re preparing to fight, desperately evacuating planets and attempting to gather our forces. But here I am reading about Sloane’s facial expressions.
We just discovered that Rasputin survived, and we uploaded his mind into a frame and took him to the Tower. That’s HUGE. And we didn’t even get a cutscene, or even audio dialogue... We didn’t even SEE him. Holy -blam!-ing shit, what a letdown. This is literally THE worst storytelling I’ve ever seen in a video game.

1 commentaireSadly, they want to label the lack of effort as “nostalgia”, the last run through old content. This is exactly how they will label all returning DCV activities in the future (relive this and that but with a twist). All this would make sense if these were one-and-done exclusive activities...but anyone who plays Destiny knows that throughout the years in order to get value out of the game you have to replay each activity many times, to the point where you know where every enemy spawns from. This goes against the nostalgia and makes quests like that feel like a chore.

1 commentaireI thought it was cool... While I was doing the Festering Halls part it kind of made me sad because that area was never really expanded upon. The Arcology has so much potential and its sad that its getting vaulted for a bit. Hopefully they bring it back somehow later in the future.

Gun seems cool but I am done forcing my self to grind mundane old content for stuff I will use once. Exotic quests should be fun. I have skipped every exotic quest since thorn and izanagis burden because they are not fun to carry out and the reward isn’t even worth it. I don’t have truth, leviathans breath, devils ruin, deathbringer or bastion for the same reason. They shower us in exotic quests these days just to give us something to do but they are not fun, and the only people who do them are the completionists.

Luckily the evacuation timeline has been extended to November so that we have time for all this.

I loved how after finishing each quest step on the planets they gave us the nightfall strike weapon. Not even an upgraded new version either, not even masterworked, the year 1 version probably 99.5% of the player base already has. Very fvcking lazy and pathetic. Bungie is pathetic.

100% agree with you, doing the same repeated boring nonsense, recycled content, games got stale. Add to the fact BL is delayed, most are fatigued with this game, nothing new, very lame content to keep the player base occupied till 10th Nov.
