In the coming war against the Pyramids/Darkness, the IX foretold the fates of Mara Sov and Drifter. During a Queen's Court cutscene, Mara conversed with the Emissary and said that she accepts their terms and would relocate their asset. During one of Invitations of the IX quests in the IX's realm, the IX discuss Queen Mara Sov. They say that she will be destroyed once and for all in the coming war but turns the tide against the Darkness in either the Light's favor or for balance (as it is the Awoken way). Mara has clearly accepted her fate and has spent her entire existence building up to this moment. Drifter, on the other hand, is quite the opposite. He is a survivor, and is willing to stop at nothing to ensure that he continues to do so. Drifter plans on high-tailing it out of the system when everything goes to hell. But the IX have foretold his fate. He knows how he will die, and he doesn't like it. He refuses to be involved in their "schemes". But they told him that no matter what he does, Drifter still has a role to play. He continues to challenge his fate. [spoiler] Always brush your teeth.[/spoiler]
