Warlock pain point?
SBH-centric pain point?
Idk, today's episode is; "Warlocks suck and almost every tree needs a buff or rework somehow."
Let's just full send every issue, since 'locks are the only class that are almost universally in a bad state;
Oh, and this is mostly from a PvP perspective. So PvE might not 100% apply, but this list of me saying the problems with Warlock is somewhat universal.
Top Dawn has a good melee with really good mobility, a gimmicky but occasionally useful grenade charge in Heat Rises, and a pretty bad super in all things that aren't mobility. And this is the best the Warlocks get, keeping in mind this tree doesn't need a single change at all.
Middle Dawn has the grenade charge, Empowering melee is crap because the melee animation is too slow to get much use out of it for the most part, and the super is stupid easy to shoot down, if not just OHK-ing you out of it, it's hard outclassed in general by Bubble.
Bottom Dawnblade trades not having a neutral game for having a decent, if slow super. In return, you get Discount Bloom because it's melee only, and Icarus Dive, which would be occasionally useful, but it's on a hidden cooldown, and isn't instant with giving you, what? 1/3 of your health?
----**----
Top Stormcaller is useful against teams that are grouping up. Most of it's use is constrained to 6v6 because of its strengths. The chaining effect is pretty mediocre in most cases, and outright useless in the melee because it doesn't do even close to enough damage. The super is fair at taking out other supers and groups on unarmored opponents, but due to a lack of mobility and Ionic Blink never being insanely good, you can't close the gap.
Middle Tree is just mediocre. You'd think that Chaos Reach can be a useful tool for shutdowns, but it lacks armor and is overall not very practical to use. The recharging things are legitimately good. Ball Lighting isn't good as a melee ability because of trash velocity without tracking or proximity detonation. Pulsewave will also never not be a meme to me in most situations.
Bottom Tree just sucks a around. Elemental Surge or whatever used to be decent but got nerfed into Oblivion because they changed it from super build to Class Ability build. Arc Soul is trash, Escape Artist might make it palletable, but that's the best you're getting, and that takes an Exotic slot. The melee is alright if unremarkable, and Landfall is weak but occasionally pretty useful.
----**----
Top Voidwalker has the charging grenade and a good melee. Slowva Bomb is in the bottom 3 supers in the game due to the fact that you can shoot it out of the air, the collision hitbox is too big (so it gets caught on random stuff), the velocity is too slow, the tracking is too weak, and the seekers don't behave consistently.
Middle Tree sucks all around, Supernova got nerfed into complete uselessness. The melee is decent for single target damage, but the explosion doesn't do nearly enough to adjacent opponents. And Nova Warp is without question in the bottom 3 supers in the game, since charging it exists and is required, teleports are too expensive, and your overall speed is slower than a snail going through molasses.
Bottom tree is theoretically decent, if it's gameplay style was at all practical in either gamemode. It's not that Devour sucks on paper, it's just that it's not very practical to use in almost all of Destiny. And Vortex is the third of the bottom 3 supers in the game due to poor range, blast radius, and the lingering damage is terrible.
----**----
Rifts in general are too slow, buggy, and not useful. Healing rifts do t build the overshield fast or strong enough, and Empowering is very gimmicky and static in general. The speed of rifts in general is just far too slow, on top of the activation being extremely buggy, especially if nudging against a wall during deployment.
The melee is still the worst in the game, the increased range doesn't do much since it's translated into a lunge, and the speed is still way too slow to be practical in any situation that's not finishing opponents. I just say buff the speed of it 50% so it's still slower than others, but it resembles something competitive, maybe also add another half meter so you're out-ranging Titans no matter what the Titan is using. I dunno!

*sips coffee* Right to the point. As for top tree Voidwalker I use it a lot in PvP and the only way to use it is by dropping a Charged Vortex grenade in an area where your opponents will be or are currently locking down. A high discipline with Enhanced Ashes to Assests as a bonus. This is probably the second best subclass for PvP IMHO.

2 commentairesModifié par Swiftlock : 5/29/2020 4:22:35 PMWarlocks just feel like an afterthought in a majority of PvE activities. Wells and rifts aren't too critical outside of things like Reckoning and a few Ordeal strategies, (which you can still blow through with Titans and Hunters just fine). They're good at crowd control but... the other classes can do that without much trouble. They also suffer greatly in DPS because they can't quickly bypass reloads, meaning they have to use more shaky options like Whisper or Izanagi + Wendigo to try and put up big numbers. Often times they're relegated to being the Divinity/Tractor debuff mule. Not to mention they have THE most lackluster and un-fun exotics out of the bunch. A majority of them just focus on reducing cooldowns. The best Warlock exotic is the one that tries to emulate the insta-reloading/high mobility shenanigans the other classes put out. Warlocks lack a proper identity. They should be powerful glass cannon casters with more 'oomph' behind their abilities. Instead they're just an awkward support class that doesn't feel integral to success. I miss Self-Res. I know it broke the game but damn. That made me feel powerful when I can turn a raid wipe into a success by reviving at the perfect time. More moments like that, please.

Even though that’s a lot of feedback, Funny story: Remember that Centurion Oryx took right after you landed on the Dreadnaught, then the Centurion and the taken Ogre tried to stop you from killing the King? Heh... didn't work. So the Centurion's bond brothers are pretty angry they lost their commander. They're leading a team to blow up the Dreadnaught's core. Core goes... most of the system goes with it. You're going to make sure that doesn't happen.
Ball Lighting isn't good as a melee ability because of trash velocity without tracking or proximity detonation.
Ball Lightning will detonate when it detects a target is within a cone projecting downward from it, dealing damage to any target caught within that cone at the time of detonation allowing it to hit multiple targets at once. This allows the user to soften up a group of Guardians in Crucible trying to claim a Control point who aren’t observing proper social distancing guidelines, and is well paired with a grenade in such a situation. That said, this feature of Ball Lightning does not in and of itself make the Control tree a great option for Crucible. I do feel the subclass is just fine in terms of PvE and should be left as is, with other subclasses being the target of any potential future PvP centered revamps. Not all subclasses for a given class need to be equally viable in PvP, Warlocks just need more options than currently exist. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
