That really is where the whole game is. Nothing can be great or it's getting nerfed, and if it isn't great it isn't worth bothering to get. Just hundreds and hundreds of mediocre guns with a few slightly better than the others, thanks to that over decade old Tiger engine that can't separate PvP and PvE. If you're an MMO fan this is not the game for you, only took me 5 years of hoping they'd expand on the original vanilla destiny MMO elements to realize they never are.

    What are you talking about. Retiring weapons and armors, power grinds, seasonal content.... its never been more of a mmo than now.

  • The first 6 months of D1. Levels mattered, so much so that the early raids became trivial and soloable. Each tier of rarity was a real step up from the last. I don't mean the small amount we see now, it was a major difference. Customizable skill trees. Even the weapons had to be leveled up to unlock perks. Now it's LL that just unlocks content, you don't actually become stronger. You just become less weak. You can get by just fine with a blue if you really want to, and often a legendary is just as good as an exotic. Experience is good for one thing now, moving the season pass forward. We may differ in what we believe makes an MMO, I personally think the game is no where near what they were trying to do at D1 launch before they realized there was no way they were keeping up with the content releases needed to maintain it.
