New Guardian Class Ideas

I’m sure many of us have noticed the guardian crest and how it represents the guardians by their symbols but something is missing. The bottom right square represents nothing, it has no symbol, and feels incomplete. So I thought maybe we can fill it with ideas for a new guardian class! I’ll start off with some questions so you can brainstorm. - What’s their class name? - What’s their play style? - Titans: Tank / Aggressive - Hunters: Stealth / Agile - Warlocks: Controller / Buffs - New class: ??? - How would their class symbol look like? - What supers would they have? - What would their sublasses be called? - What are the supers called? Ex. Golden Gun, Nova Bomb, Fist of Havoc - How do they contribute to the fight against darkness? - Titans: Defend the city and Traveler - Hunters: Scout new land/territory - Warlocks: Gain knowledge of the light/darkness - New class: ??? - What would be their class item look like? - Where would it go? - How would their armor look? - What would their subclass trees be called? - Titan: Code of the... - Hunter: Way of the... - Warlock: Attunement of... - New class: ??? - What would be their class ability? - What’s their movement? Ex. Glide, Double Jump, Lift, Blink I hope you take the time to write some ideas down because I’m curious to see what you guys would like for a new guardian.

  • 1. They would be called augmentors. 2. Their play style would be supportive, going into the battle, throwing down debuffs while throwing buffs onto teammates. Control, Buffs, Area Damage. 3. Their class symbol would probably consist... well, only I can imagine it, but I sketch out an idea. 4. They would have multiple supers. Solar: Raining Flames (where the Guardian would place down a machine that sprays sparks of fire into the air, raining and controling an area with flames from above, taking out a 1/4 of a guardians health on a hit per spark Scorching Wave, where the Guardian would plant some kind of device into the ground, sending large shockwaves from the ground, causing good amounts of damage. It would fire 3 shockwaves over the span of 7 seconds, then leave the ground scorched for another 15 seconds, scorching anybody on that ground. Void: Missile Barrage, where the guardian reveals 12-15 missiles, that seek towards enemies. The missiles probably deal about 1/3 of a guardian's health and also cause them to become volatile. Leeching Curse, where the guardian develops an 3 extremely fast discs, that when thrown, has a somewhat form of tracking (it's going super fast, so its seeking properties aren't perfect), that on a hit, leeches from the target, and gives you a void over shield from their life-source. Additionally, you may throw it onto a teammate to instantly give them a full overshield. Arc: Shock Disruptor, where the guardian throws a device, that creates an aura that when enemies go in, they take rapid arc damage that has three bounces, affecting up to 3 targets next to them. The ultimate lasts for 20 seconds, and will occasionally fire stray lightning bolts at enemies, that have 3 bounces as well. Shock Web, where the guardian throws a grenade that produces 8 small shocking bots, that track enemies and create tripwires between each other that damage those who go next to them. After 8 seconds, the bots jump off and explode, like pulse grenades damaging them. Stasis: Ice Flurry, where the guardian entraps throws a drone, that then flies up and shoots stasis bullets (like a stasis turret) at up to 5 targets, slowing them down and having a bird's eye view. After 8 seconds, the drone explodes, shooting a final, double damage stasis crystal at all possible targets within a radius. Chilling Curse, where the guardian throws a dart that chains and bounces between as many targets as possible without hitting a target a second time, has a very powerful (but doesn't freeze) slowing effect on them. For the final target (when the homing dart has no other targets) freezes them and hurts them a lot (in crucible or such, it would leave them in critical condition). Strand: Grappling Snare: The guardian throws a device, that shoots strand at up to 20 targets, and drags them towards the middle, slowly dealing damage to them. The enemies can still shoot and stuff, but they can't move and are slowly dragged toward the device. Then, it deals damage to them. Tangle Zone, where the guardian throws a device that explodes, and creates a slowing, towering tangle of strand. When caught in the strand, an enemy cannot swivel as fast, can't jump, and originally is stuck, but after 3 seconds can move really slow. The effect lasts for 20 seconds (or maybe 15). 5. They contribute to the fight against the darkness by developing technology, utilizing light to enhance, heal, and protect guardians. 6. Their class item would be some kind of belt, and a relatively small pack. I call it a kit, where they have a small pack on their belt, and a few tools and stuff. 7. It would just go on their waist, and there would be a pack (theoretically contains your tech) and a bunch of other gadgets. 8. The armor would (obviously) be made of metal, with metal plates on it, and light (or darkness) coursing through the armor. The center (a little like Iron Man) would have a circle (or some kind of shape), glowing with your energy. This would explain why your gadgets (and augments) can store the energy that you wield- it's because of your armor. The armor would also have a small backpack-looking thing, which would probably be thinner than bulky, and in the middle would control the light. Helmet- Would probably have a variety of designs, some of which may have wires, or energy coursing through the cracks Gauntlets- Would have energy coursing through the cracks, but made up of plates rather than a single, hard surface. The fact that it is made up of plates is very noticeable Chestplates- Pulling on what I already said earlier, the armor would obviously be made of plates, with energy coursing through the cracks. Some chest plates are symmetrical, but some are asymmetrical with the way that the plates are put in. Pants- Would also obviously be made of plates, but can also has influence from Titan pants, with their designs (such as Dunemarchers), with their salvos and stuff. Greaves- Unlike the rest of the set, would probably not completely be made of plates. Honestly, I don't know what they would look like, besides that energy would be coursing through their armor. 9. Their subclass trees would be called Ambition of the... whatever. I don't know their subclass names, but it would probably be something like Flaresmith for Solar Circuitguide for Arc Shadowforge for Void Wraith for Stasis Subjugator for Strand 10. Their class ability (like rifts and shields) would probably consist of some kind of debuff rift that would set things volatile, or scorch, or create a small blizzard, or something, typically ending up in some kind of explosion. I'm also thinking of turrets, or maybe even a kind of summoner thing. It could also buff an area, but the debuff thing is what I'm properly thinking of. 11. It would probably be some kind of repositioning jump, but not one you could spam. Maybe, it's like a pretty far jump with a cooldown, that when you land, you slow down (or maybe even speed up for the purpose of repositioning). 12. This is about it's kind of throwable, range thing that isn't a grenade (melee ability). So the idea is that you can throw a small disk onto your teammates, that give them some kind of debuff aura, or even give them a regenerating half-overshield, maybe if you're solar. You could also throw them onto enemies, on which case it debuffs, by giving a volatile, scorch, or even causing a mini-blizzard to freeze them. There are a lot of open possibilities with this skill, and I think it falls into the supportive part of this class all the more, and these throwables are called Maybe like, void can give a regenerating over shield, but can only go up to half. The debuff causes a volatile burst every 8 seconds for 16 seconds. Solar can give scorching rounds to a teammate, and the debuff causes an aura giving scorch to the enemy that the augment has hit. As long as an enemy is in the aura, they have scorch. This debuff lasts for 9 seconds. The buff lasts for 20 seconds. I don't want to type anymore, but yeah. Just wanted to write this.

  • My idea was for pet class, kinda like Fl4k in borderlands 3 but i haven’t come up with any other ideas yet

  • Classes in destiny follow the Holy Trinity of fantasy, Warrior/Mage/Rouge. Whatever new class you make can't fit into any of those three boxes. That's why I think a fourth class needs to move away from the fantasy inspiration and embrace the science part of Science Fantasy and be some sort of engineer class.
