This is what they mostly do. They say what change is going to happen but not really clear reasons why. A lot of times we see nerfs being implemented that nobody has been asking for. Mostly it is because they don't want you to feel powerful and kill bosses faster than Bungie intended. Everytime a weapon melts bosses quick they will nerf it. But there will always be a weapon that will be the main weapon to be used on certain bosses. You can't keep nerfing these. PvE nerfs are hated mostly by the community but also some nerfs in crucible that nobody asked for are sometimes hated like for example the Last Word. Nobody has asked for it. It was a good weapon to counter shotgun rushers. It also needs more range than a side arm since it is a hand cannon. I am affraid that they are going to nerf it too much again that this exotic is going to be useless because legendary side arms are a better option which is just sad.

Snipers need to be affected by flinch. Snipers are aids in pvp

We're about two or three weeks away from the new Season. Just calm down and wait to see. There are more weapons than just snipers. Start testing out variety.

Bungie- "we are nerfing snipers to encourage closer proximity in PvE engagement. *Boss-stomp. Everybody dies.* Bungie- "lol!"

So the sniper nerf likely indicates the new boss will be a slow moving bullet sponge with a large crit spot. The nerf to the other weapons likely indicate there will be an annoying amount of ads. Nerfs are the only way bungle can set up a semi challenging boss fight. Since they basically gave up on making an actual difficult boss

Honestly, the sniper nerf is the most telling aspect about Bungie's design philosophy: "We can't make unique encounters that favor close range fighting mechanics, so we'll just blame the playerbase for using what works and nerf it." Simply put, it seems they've grown a little content and arrogant about their product. Then again, the hardcore are still gonna keep -blam!- yet throwing money at the screen so who can blame Bungie for getting cocky?

This is exactly why I've continued to say you guys have overreacted and not looked at all the facts. Previously when they buffed them in SK the notes clearly said their was individual exotic tuning regarding the buff. Chances are we'll have individual tuning again. They've been doing that consistently for the past few seasons for tons of things when an entire archetype gets a hit. Also snipers as that set of notes says and this TWAB states we'll still have our +47% buff against red health bars. If red health bars are made more difficult a sniper rifle might still be good just for a different reason. Finally its Izanagi. Even with this nerf back to its S7 state lets not forget it was still a top 3 option and has been like top 5 since it was introduced in S5. So by no means is the gun going to become -blam!- and unusable and not worth it. We don't have auto reloading, nade launchers are getting nerfed, and Divinity exists. Consider the reasons for the nerf on top of it. They wanted to make snipers a better choice but they made them TOO good. Tons of people have said this and it needs to be reiterated because its true. Izanagi's was to the point of "have or get kicked" and in many instances was and still will be the only optimal gun for certain content. Master nightfall? Izanagi. Garden of Salvation and Crown of Sorrow? Izanagi. Anything that allows for safe sniping and has a boss to be melted? Izanagi. The nerf is fine because we already know the gun will be set back to a state in which we know its still a beast. Now its a beast but leaves room for other stuff to shine through, especially if we get any other buffs/changes that increase the amount of diversity. Do you want one dominant gun that never leaves your inventory constantly or a set of good guns that shift regularly and allow you to play the game in a variety of ways but still allows for you to use that old beast if you want to? Thats exactly what this nerf is.

I would like to see box breathing buffed to balance the nerfs. Make similar to trench barrel were it lasts for 3 shots or 5 seconds.

You see them balancing snipers and other crap yet rockets have been suffering for the existence of the game. Priorities are making us less powerful it seems.

Remember when they laucnhed D2 and they fed us a line of b******* saying that they can Nerf one gun and not hit entire classes unlike D1? A great example of them lying about that is high impact frame Fusion rifle Nerf. Literally only one Fusion rifle was the problem and now they've nerfed an entire class. Sounds to me like Bungie lied their ass off again
