I could definitely see how it could seem overwhelming. Youtube is your friend! Good Luck and Welcome aboard guardian! The best thing you can do? Delete this app pronto. These ppl are crazy here. 1 commentaireWhat are you confused about? The introduction for new players sucks, so it’s not just you.

Hey thanks eveyrone for the suggestions. I've been watching alot of YouTube on Destiny 2 and I'm just overwhelmed with the crazy amount of work thats required to have good gear for the game.

3 commentairesJust fly into the tower and go to Eververse, most of the content is there 😉
-
Well there is this thing called eververse with cool loot buy it all
-
I’ve been playing for 5 years and I still don’t know what’s going on.
-
1 commentaireJust play hunter it's the easiest
-
i reccomend destiny 1, if your on ps4 I'll play with you

Its more or less Yin and Yang fighting it out with the powers that be caught in between. Some lore talks about the Gardner and the Winnower, one reaps one sows. With always the same pattern of life dominating all else every time they play their game.
-
Just visit Hawthorne. She’ll tell you everything you want to know.
-
Your family secretly hates you.
-
This game is NOT new player friendly.

There’s some useful info in the new player / new light guides below. Hopefully it will be useful. https://www.polygon.com/destiny-2-guide-walkthrough/2019/10/1/20885546/new-light-beginners-tips-tricks-advice-starting-guardian-tower https://kotaku.com/a-newcomer-s-guide-to-destiny-2-1838787446

Lots of videos on YouTube and articles on the web. There isn't much in-game that's going to help you and even less here in the toxic forums.

I took a few seasons off and felt the same way coming back. Turned me off and I hardly boot it up anymore. I used to no life this game from beta d1. I kind of miss it, but I just can’t seem to get back into it ever since they started with season the first go around.

Thorn boost lobbys

I felt exactly the same booting up D2 for the first time. The game kinda just throws its systems at you with very little guidance to get you started. I also wish the story content was more accessible. I had to look up where to find the content I thought was going to be the most accessible. So yeah, it's pretty shit getting into the game.

just return it

Start the Red War Campaign. Keep equipping gear that has higher gear score as you go along, pay no mind to rarity of items, just the score. After the Red War Campaign, you should choose the Forsaken Campaign or Warmind if you are FTP. Enjoy the stories, shooting stuff and learning the areas. Each planet has vendors with bounties, do them when ur in the area. Collect mats on planets and open chests. You should hit 900 gear score easily this way, then the game slows down in terms of progressive gear score. Look for a new players friendly clan at this point. Here is were you can begin doing your powerful reward weeklies which are marked on the directory. These drops will eventually get you 960. If you are still enjoying yourself when u hit 900, I recommend the Shadowkeep DLC, which will include a free season. Don't be afraid to ask simple questions, most of the games info needed to progress goes unsaid in game.

if you want to D2, you gotta google seriously, i've spent more time researching D2 to find out what the frick is going on than any other FPS i've played. D2 is a confusing tangled mess of content that Devs make absolutely no effort to help new players navigate. good news is there are about a million starter guides out there... pick one

Destiny 2 could do a better job of explaining and guiding new players along , I'm sorry that I cannot really be much of help on that front BUT I'm hoping there are guardians that will give some of the guidance you seek. I can give you a few YouTubers that are great assets to the community in their own way and will make playing way more enjoyable. Xhoundishx on YouTube shows what's changed every weekly reset. You can check him out to keep up to date on any changes. He's extremely consistent, accurate and one of the fastest on D2 news. MynameisByf and Myelin Games on YouTube are the two Great keepers of Lore and do amazing jobs of explaining lot about the world of destiny. So if ever wonder about a character or a time period in the game, chances are they have an awesome video on the subject.

I hear ya. Destiny has always done a poor job explaining how things work to new players. I had to learn from sources outside the game. There should be HELP available for players.
-
I would take it one aspect at a time. Do story missions first. Or just do random activities on the planets (patrols, adventures, lost areas). If you like that you can increase by trying Crucible, Gambit and Strikes.

I've played over 400 hours and I still get a little confused. You could try going to the Tower, Amanda Holliday, and running the red war quest. This is Destiny 2's main story. It may help a little, maybe.
