Do you fellow adults with 9-5s still actually play?
I haven’t played in god knows how long. I used to love the game and grind for raids mostly but man I’ve even skipped the last two raids. Just watched them on twitch instead. I don’t think I could have functioned in my adult life anymore and continued playing Destiny. Doing tasks I “need to do” felt a lot like a second job. Now I only play games that I can have some pure fun in with no real tasks and hop on and off. Like Apex.
I decided towards the beginning of last year I would no longer play or buy expansions until they got to the point with the story. I’m talking Savathun shows up or the rest of the Darkness Pyramid ships. Otherwise I’m done with these little side stories taking up my time. How do you guys still handle it? Do you still love it as much as Destiny 1?

Don't love it nearly as much as d1. D1 I played at every given opportunity. I'll play d2 for an hour or 2 before bed because it has become part of my routine. Haven't paid for anything since forsaken and didn't even buy the season pass attached to that dlc.

Mainly just weekends now, there's not enough desire to play during the evenings anymore, especially when I'm just doing the same thing as I was this time last year.

9 to 7 here, 6 days a week and I still play. Granted, I barely sleep overall, but well, yea I dot squeeze in a couple of hours every 2 days. Honestly bud, in the long run, there are better games out there that don't require this much grind, the only reason i still do play is due to my clan and the my friends there.

I usually log off and go play the Sims. The Sims, people... Destiny is being replaced in my life by [u]THE SIMS[/u] [i]*head explodes*[/i].

9 commentairesI work crazy hours, so I officially put the game to bed in November. I hopped on once since then to help out a friend. Getting to the tower and seeing Saint-14 without playing the mission to save him turned me off. I'm not going to dedicate my life to logging in a game everyday that's not even great. I would be logging in to prevent myself from missing out. I decided that's a shitty reason to play a game. Meanwhile recently I didn't have the time to play ESO for a good 2 weeks. I hopped back on and continued where I left off. That's how it should be.

Besides like 2-3 hours today just to see if anything interesting popped up. Not really. D2 just lost my attention really. I want to know what happens with the story still, I just don't have any real drive to play it anymore. I don't raid as much as I used to, mainly as I don't see the point of doing so anymore. I'll still keep an eye out for what happens, as I want to get interested in it again.

With the story taking a back seat I’ve lost most motivation to play. Edit: plus taking a bit of time off and coming back I’m a bit lost. New currency and not knowing where to pick up or continue certain quests. I don’t feel like going on the internet to do homework just to see where to go everytime I want to play.

I play but not as much as I used to. Dragged my Hunter and a Titan out of retirement to give me a little different play style for a change but I’ve got better things to do these days, other games, other hobbies.

I don't play nearly as much as I used to. Part of that is my job eating up a lot more time now, part is all but one of my friends have left it, and part is because I dont really see the need to do much endgame or seasonal stuff. Pvp is sometimes fun, but I get bored of it fast now. Comp doesn't interest me, neither do any of its rewards. I want story these days. I'm at a "get to the point already" state of mind with destiny. So I guess in a similar boat.

I quit destiny twice: - 1 month into Destiny 2 - 1 month ago. The first time I left, 90% of the playerbase followed, ATVI shares collapsed when all the fanboys on this forums were calling my shorting the stock stupid, instead they were all apparently long ATVI and looking at $100 a share. It’s a shame ATVI and Bungie split! I was looking forward to shorting again ATVI around $65, now I just have to hold the stock until god knows where! /s

Yes, I am still having fun. Coworkers started playing on PC, so I bit the bullet and joined them. I still play on Xbox. Crucible on PC is horrible. Crucible on console is more enjoyable.

I played at the beginning of the season but that got boring really fast. Then I came back for the dawning just to level up my season super fast. Farmed the forges for the stuff and just made cookies. Then quit and came back for the bastion. Probably won't buy next season and just play once in a blue moon. Not gonna lie. First game I find that gets my attention like Destiny did? Destiny gets uninstalled. Never thought I would say that but the future for the franchise is looking really bad in my mind. Not the kind of game I started out playing. My biggest issue is that there is nothing to chase in the game any more except maybe a title. Even if Bungie gives us a good weapon or exotic, the nerf hammer will fall and destroy it. Look what they did to wishbringer. That was really uncalled for because hardly anyone was using it when it was good. Bows in general suck. Then there is the fun factor. The game just isn't fun anymore. All it is now is log on, do bounties come back and do the same thing next time.

When the activity you engage in to decompress seems more like a chore instead of an enjoyable passtime, it's not worth doing. To me, this is what this franchise has become.

Yep often from 7:30 till around 9pm est most nights. Maybe a raid with the clan, or some crucible insanity, or whisper/zero hour runs for clan mates.

I played a good bit at the beginning of the season, but mostly to speed through all the weapons and other crap. After that I had two months left in this season and have barely touched it. It's just become so much more boring and with this stupid thing of taking 10 minutes to get to the tower I'm not dealing with that.

It's not just adults. Kids have school and pseudo-kids should either have a job or college. The only conceivable players that shouldn't lose 9-10 hours 5 days a week to some kind of obligatory work are deadbeats, trust fund babies, and retirees.

I'm actually more prone to working 8ish am to 2ish am plus at least 18 hours on the weekend. SO when I need a break I work out for an hour then play for a few. Then take another break around 11pm with D2. Nothing like punching an ogre in the face to make you feel better. Dead, but better.

I don't play Destiny 2 anymore. Escape from tarkov is the best.

I work right at 250 hours per month and still have completed the seasonal content and the raids. It’s possible and still have a family and hobbies. Just takes time management.

Yes. I don’t usually grind for much though, I just hop on and play crucible. Sometimes I might spend the night grinding for a god roll. It’s awesome when you get it but omg running the same thing for a couple hours getting nothing but trash is usually enough to send me back into crucible and not grind for anything for another week or 2
