ALL activities in the game should have a chance of dropping prisms and ascendant shards. But the more difficult the activity, the higher the drop rate.

Bungie, after 5 years of playing Destiny games, you still blow my mind. Too bad it’s not always in a positive way. I can’t believe people have to make a post about this issue, but I also like to give my 2 cents: Why in the world did you make the decision to only reward ascendant shards in the nightfalls? And mainly the non-matchmade nightfalls? What is wrong with people playing games they enjoy? (Raids, strikes, crucible, gambit, just exploring public events, lost sectors). I get that the more difficult the activity, the higher the chance of dropping prisms and shards should be…. Every raid completion rewards one shard, every two or three 980 nightfalls give a shard, one in 60 public events give a shard, one in 25 lost sectors/strikes/crucible/gambit match give a shard, et cetera. You maybe think that’s a lot, but give us some slack here. Year 1: Armor 0.0. Armor masterwork costs: 5 cores. Bungie: “oh, that was a mistake! Here comes Armor 1.0, delete all year one armor!” Year 2: Armor 1.0. Armor masterwork costs: 9 cores. Bungie: “oh, that was a mistake! Here comes Armor 2.0, delete all year two armor!” (Glad I didn’t) Year 3: Armor 2.0. Armor masterwork costs: 130+ cores (if you don’t have prisms and enhancement shards). Not to mention you need friggin’ 3 shards to masterwork an exotic and you’re limited by element affinity…. What will happen in year 4? Armor 3.0? We need to delete everything again? So, you don’t need to handout shards and prisms like candy, but give every gamemode in the game a chance to reward prisms/shards so people can simply treat D2 as a fun game and not as a chore or second job.
