Columbus Day A day we celebrate(?) the discovery of a continent that the guy didn't actually discover.... I've never understood that.
-
A town close to me has a statue of him. A lot of Italians around so it's going to stay for a long time
-
The Vikings (and Columbus) were about 15,000 years too late to claim the title of “discovering” America.
-
Screw Columbus, he was a shitty person.
-
Modifié par Disciple4Christ4 : 10/16/2019 7:22:23 PMColumbus was a terrible person as well. He killed hundreds of people, treated the natives like dirt, and killed someone on his ship so he could claim a reward from the queen. The queen said the first man on the boat to spot land would get a huge reward, so when one guy saw land early in the morning, Columbus killed him and threw him overboard.
-
How do you discover something when people are already there?
-
Literally every comment was against him lol
-
The Vikings landed in Canada. Columbus never stepped foot in America either.
-
-blam!- columbus. Amerigo Vespucci discovered America.
-
Well.....yes. The vikings discovered it, tried to colonise it, that failed, they left and forgot about it. Columbus discovered it and it changed the world.
-
Phil the cockroach was here first, dummy.
-
Technically it was the Chinese on the west coast a while back
-
Pretty sure there were people in the Americas before the vikings arrived.
-
No... the Vikings may have gone there first, but they didn’t really discover it. All records of North America were lost or just unknown.
-
No, it was the humans in the Ice Age that crosses the ice bridge over here.
-
No it was the space aliens who discovered America. Get it right.
-
ackchually hee dihd nawt dihshcovehr ammehricka furhsht
-
Which is still news to the Native Americans who were already living here.....
-
Leif Erikson deserves the credit. He didn't torture and enslave Natives and was known to be much kinder than Columbus.
-
Columbus a FRAUD
-
It wasn't exactly fair. Columbus had ships while the Vikings had flying Dragons.
