Phoebe

Call me a monster all you want, but am I the only person who would pronounce it as "Fo-bee" rather than "Fee-bee"? Like "PH" makes an F sound. With words that have "oe", the e is usually silent, but it seems that the o is replaced with another e when it applies to the name "Phoebe". Just like the word "foe". The e is silent, but with "Phoebe", they applied the silence on o and added another e. Pronoucing it like "fee-bee" makes the name sound like some sort of mid-2000s toy. "Hey, you wanna play with some Feebees after school?" "Yeah sure." This honestly really bamboozled the shit out of me. EDIT: "Phoenix" would be pretty much the reversed. It actually sounds cool being pronounced "Fee-niks".
Erased....
• Because... it came from the Greeks (or Romans, same thing) so it’s supposed to be confusing. Like French! For example: Ménage a Trois isn’t pronounced Men-Ah-geh A Troyce
thanks to Donut (RvB) for introducing me to this word! (Donut’s Song, or whatever)

i know diff. between Greeks and Roman if that wasn’t really clear.
