So before the new bright dust system was mentioned I used to get an exotic in free Eververse engrams about once in every 6. I normally logged in every day to do enough activities to earn 1 engram and opened it that day. For the last couple of weeks I logged in every day and earned 1 Eververse engram as normal, I did not get a single exotic. That’s 14 engrams and no exotic, at this point I wondered if they have recently implemented a system where the more regularly you play the game the less likely you are to receive an exotic. This would benefit Spungie as it would take regular players longer to earn all the exotics, to keep players grinding for the next reward. So I thought rather than playing each day and opening my engram lets act like a player who does not care about the engrams or playing the game. So I earned 3 engrams over 3 days and did not open any of them, I did not log in for 3 days after that. When I did log in I opened the 3 engrams and received 3 exotics at once, a sparrow, a ship and an ornament. I know correlation is not necessarily causation, however I found it far too much of a coincidence... Has anyone else experienced rigged rewards based on login patterns and not opening engrams? Could be I am just paranoid but I think games companies are spending more than ever on developing methods of manipulation rather than improving their game!
