We need a bigger vault bungie

A bigger fault would be nice, indeed. I read something here about the limitation, and that's tied to the current consoles and their specs. Well .. new consoles will arrive soon (although still many will play on the current ones then) So part of that problem seems to be fixed ;) Another solution would be; that all weapons that you obtained in a year, or more .. could be obtained again later with the same specs you had before. That's not the case right now. In that way you could clean your vault, without losing a godroll or a specific roll you wanted. You could always get it back then, if you wanna play with it.

1 commentaireI did a big spring clean of my vault to get ready for the new stuff. Although i kept allot of old stuff in tve vault for...nostalgic/collecting reasons i realized that much of it are stuff i will never ever use or even look at. It just sits there and takes up space. It was either this or constantly visiting the postmaster.

9 commentairesLove the support going around in this thread. /s Who the hell cares how and why they fill up their vaults to the brim, it doesn't affect anyone negatively by having more vault space. Hell maybe if you had more vault space, you'd start keeping some more things too rather than just dismantling every single thing you come across.

1 commentaireWow, salty answers here 1)Some people like to collect stuff, for various reasons like a big meta change. 2) its not that much work for Bungie to make it bigger, why limit it at all? 3) If you dont want or need a bigger vault, thats ok, but dont start attacking people who love collecting sets or weapons. If you dont need it, simply dont use it? Why even complain about it?

1 commentaireNo the real problem is not having a working collection system where we can grab year 2 weapons and armour. We should be able to grab our last rolled weapon and armour that we collected or there should be a static/ saved roll that we can grab if we want to use that. At the moment people are hoarding (including myself) their year 2 gear as a collection items along with some good rolls which is filling up the 500 spaces. With each season or event introducing more amour sets and weapons of course this is going to happen.

3 commentairesI gave a technical answer below but I’ll repeat it here. The reason why you can only hold 500 items in your vault is because it requires a bigger memory footprint. Each item you have needs to to have an instance in the game each instance requires more memory usage. You can hold 500 items in your vault + inventory + post master then multiply that by #players in your server. That is the total sum of memory allowed for item instances in the game. The biggest issue with memory management is that consoles form the baseline for performance and are also handicapped by this as well. X1 and PS4 have 8GB each the PS4 iirc has 7GB available for the game in that 7GB you have the textures+items (guns and shit) AI , video rendering, frame buffering, texture streaming basically a whole load of code that requires lots and lots of memory. On PC whilst memory might not be a issue the game engine can’t have a scalable item inventory due to the limitations of the consoles. It’s to much upkeep to maintain 2 variations of your game across 5 platforms that is why the code doesn’t change all that much across platforms. TLDR Consoles only having 8gb of ram is the reason why you can’t have unlimited vault space.

Agreed. Theres a significant amount of the community that plays to collect and Bungie has acknowledged this as well. Let the people who oppose this idea cry about it. They play for their own reasons just as you play for your own. Of course this may be a different story if Bungie hadn't half assed the collection system. They are also terrible when it comes to making things that are just fluff to loot (looking at you IB armor and Gambit Prime sets). Give us a damn working collection system then maybe space wouldnt be an issue
