Remember almost a year ago when NetEase gave Bungie $100 million to develop “non destiny IP’s”? I do...
And now thinking about how trash the Annual pass content has been. How there have been 0 strikes added, 0 crucible maps added, 0 worthwhile content... I’m starting to think not only is Destiny too big for Bungie to handle alone, now that they’ve split from Activision.... but one has to wonder... is all of the manpower and money that would have gone into making Destiny a better franchise as a whole, being dumped into crap that’s hurting Destiny in the long run?
I haven’t seen any major hiring spurts at Bungie. I haven’t heard of them partnering or merging with any other studios. Things have been frozen since the NetEase deal/Activision split. So if you math that out... Bungie lost not only their publisher, and several of that publishers in house studios to help build Destiny content, but also took $100 million from another company to build them non Destiny IP’s. That’s a net loss of epic proportions on the development front. As well as a huge development burden for a company that was once 4 studios strong with a publisher... that now has to develop everything completely ALONE and self publish...
I hate to see Destiny in such shambles. I can’t even be bothered to boot the damn game up any more. It’s so boring. I just don’t see this game headed in a direction that doesn’t see Destiny sold off to some other company that cares more than Bungie. At this point, it’s really hard to see any sort of give a shit on Bungie’s end. At least not from where I’m sitting.

Modifié par Demon_XXVII : 5/26/2019 2:16:50 PMFor the love of God Bungie, just sell the entire Destiny IP to Sony (SIE) and with it send over the sandbox/art/audio & 1st person gunplay/movement devs (got this bit famously right for console) Let Sony have it as their 'HALO', throw money at it, dedicated servers, Naughty Dog/Guerrilla(Horizon Zero Dawn)/Japan studio (SotC) & CDProjektRed (Witcher3) involved PS5 It could be bloomin epic!

“Forgetting” and just not caring are to very different things. I have bigger issues to worry about.
-
You should probably do some research.
-
I've not forgotten. But I'm still more of the opinion that all of these latest blunders are all BUNGiE's own doing out of sheer and undeniable incompetence on their part.
-
When I boot-up, I just sit there in orbit. I recently revisited the moon.. Destiny is rudimentary in every way a fore-runner to D2. But load times felt twice as quick! I voidwalked. Rocking; Hawkmoon, Ashravens flight, and the trials heavy machinegun. Nothing manacles. Chroma. Level 12. Bungie has some serious explaining to do...
-
Why do you think the majority of the community has had enough and are moving on. It's only going to get worse.
-
Why is everyone defending Bungie by saying,"They're allowing their game to be shit so they can manipulate you to buy the next game."? I... find that pathetic; Bungie should prove to us that they can actually take action upon feedback for the currenr game feedback is being delivered to. Not ignore everything and say,"Destiny 3... buy our $100USD Bundle for it when it drops." I acknowledge development can be a difficult thing, but with Destiny 2, something that just takes and reskins/models already used assets, it's unbelievable how far levels of incompetence can go... Destiny 3 isn't even worth a thought. It'll just be a flawed game with very similar fundamental issues, and Bungie will remain quiet, saying,"You want fixes? Buy our shitty DLC for now... and wait for Destiny 4." Don't get me wrong, I love Destiny. But I'm not in love with the devs.

Between bungle getting cut off from Activision's deep wallets, the mass exodus of development leads, and the reveal that the next season will focus on pushing Eververse sales, I'm pretty convinced that bungle is nearing bankruptcy and the heads are trying to grab as much cash as they can before they're forced to shut the doors.
-
I feel like I'm playing Destiny 2 just to play it, but not to enjoy playing it. The year 2 honeymoon period is over, and now the flaws are all that is left. I'm skeptical as hell about those "buffs" that will be announced in the next TWAB.
-
Most likely, they’re using annual pass Eververse addicts to test designs for the Netease IP!

Bungie did file for a trademark called "Matter."
-
Funnier that BUNGIE forgot about Destiny. In all honesty NetEase probably saw how BUNGIE was able to turn a mediocre game into an outrageous cash cow (solely because of the fools that buy from eververse). NetEase is probably looking for a large payout with minimal investment.
-
Didn't they blow the hundred million on buying Activision out of the contract? Now they have to make it back by selling us two months of fun gameplay, diluted to last for 2 years.
-
The $100 million from NetEase went to Bungie just long enough to be paid to Activision to end their contract. Now NetEase is a minority shareholder and on the board of directors of Bungie. Through various articles which may or may not be true, I count 3 to 4 games that Bungie is developing all at the same time.

Don’t forget that Bungie received resources from Activision to help build D2. Two other studios High Moon and Vicarious Visions. Even with this added Dev strength D2 still released as a weaker, watered down version of the original. As time progressed many of the QoL changes occurred in unison with paid DLC(ie Forsaken) Fast forward to now. I’m not sure if either studio assisted with Annual Pass content or not. Going forward it’s a safe bet that both won’t be allocating any resources to D2.
-
dlc is complete trash , we get forges , some raid , and reckoning. But if they called it a dlc everyone would have said it's worse then the osiris dlc , so into order to preserve osrisis's legacy as the worse destiny dlc , they renamed this trash anal pass.

here we go again another ps4 cry baby

“The North Remembers”
-
I said this already before. They're phoning all of it in, until destiny 3. hoping to fix what probably is irreparably damaged at this point.
-
D2 is dead since Forsaken dropped. They want to sell you D3 and they will NOT bring dedicated servers to the table. Don't buy that bs.

You don't have a profile pic

My dad got offered an hr contract for them so maybe they’re offering some jobs

It's obvious and simple math. Bungle has trouble supporting the current iterration while creating the next. A new project or projects will only make things worse. Your plane's in extreme danger of crashing because werewolves killed the whole crew, and these guys say, "I've got it! We need more werewolves!"
-
Nope. I remember. The mobile pay to win app they commisioned Bungie to develop for them. Heard it was called D3.
-
The IP's name is Matter. That is the IP that NetEase is funding.
