Re: Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten changes for Season of Opulence
The team has been hard at work on these changes, ensuring the weapons are still viable (and heavy hitters) in the sandbox. Coming from playtests, they still feel to be the "pinnacle" legendary hand cannons of Destiny 2.
To answer a few questions:
• The weapon retains the recoil and animation of 180 RPM Precision handcannons
• The change to Magnificent Howl prevents 2tap kills. Ex: Players could get 2 headshots on one enemy to proc Magnificent Howl, and then defeat another in just 2 headshots.
We'll be watching feedback as it comes in, and once the changes go live in Season of Opulence. Cheers to all chiming in with their thoughts. Keep asking questions, and we'll answer where we can.

@dmg04 Why is this not pinned? You say you want people to comment and you are supposedly monitoring said comments. So why is this not pinned front page for all to see and comment? Why are you not responding? It's been over a week with over 1000 replies in this thread yet you have nothing to say? No mention what-so-ever in this week's TWAB either. Just toss it out there and forget about it? Can you at least have the decency to illustrate some transparency and respect for your community?

However, the math doesn't add up (bare with me). 180 r/m = 180/60s = 3r/s = 0.33s/r . Since you need 2 crits and one more shot (crit or body), 0.33s/r * 3r, the gun is actually a 1.0s ttk (so long as you are hitting your first two consecutive crits, jumps to 1.33s otherwise. On the occasion that it 2 taps (and stop with all the ignorant lies about the 2 tap, it is rare, NICHE, [b][i][u]UNCOMMON[/u][/i][/b]) that case would be 0.33*2 = 0.67ish. So, basically, the component of the community that is complaining about the gun is doing so 100% based on the weapons extremely rare 2 tap potential ttk of 0.67s and not it's actual and common ttk of 1.0s, not to mention the ttk if you happen to miss either of the first 2 consecutive head shots or the MH shot which sets you on a 4 shot kill at best. If I'm missing something please point it out. Edit: I see the error in my math. The clock starts the instant round 1 is fired, then adds from there. So it technically takes 0.67s to fire 3 rounds on a 180rpm, thus the 2 tap is 0.33s (but is still very rare).

Yeah i agree i also never hit the 0.67 TTK with it because it's literaly impossible to do on console i have a 72% handcanon accury.. So i pretty much hiting my shots.. If some one Hits that it's more luck than actual skill.. aiming and enemy movement are always existing and take time.

Pistols need more stability.. 5. Smg's i personaly don't know guess there are fine? 900 RPM and 750 RPM are good but the 600 RPM i don't like them much. 6. The Overall fix of other handcanons.. 7. MAPS Service Revolver and jotunn Meta will be next then.. Glad that i don't play then any more. If you want to nerf luna/Nf let the perk only Hit at precision hits not on body. By changin it to 150 RPM is just stupid 150 always kill on three headshots and by let the perk trigger only on body is just stupid? this gun was made for precision and steals away there idea of exist? The gun is completly ruined then.. And your competitive side too.. These playlist will get empty only a few playing till they are frustrated playing always against each other because the rewards are a broken promise and will be nerfed anyway and btw you can't Release top Tier guns which are hard to get even the hardest in Game aren't going to be Meta that's there existens and this goes Hand in hand! Don't nerf it and don't pretend the Team put hard work into this they obviously did not. I bet if one of the nerf guys would play 1 week comp to get to Nf he never would try to nerf it.. Going to legend costs me over 1000 matches and my 2.0 kd.. Will i get my Kd back after the nerf? I guess not.. Fair play.. Btw: All this threads about the hate about players that earned that gun ..you get hated by the community that you earned something that some didn't try to or just shiting on? Whats the problem with the occasional 2 tap anyway? You wanted us to have hero moments and its a counter to the hand holding teamshoot meta that has plagued d2 ever since year 1.

Look down a lane in quickplay and youll often see 3 to 4 people shooting at once with the odd random hero breaking of on his own. Dont forget that for the pvp crowd crucible isnt casual. Apart from comp all you have is quickplay so thats where the action is.

Well that is not the purpose of quick play. Its for fun. All pinnacle weapons should be banned from it. Its your own fault for the nerf and driving people out of pvp.

Plenty of people have fun in crucible with or without pinnacles. You can have your views obviously but you cant decide how others are supposed to have fun.

I have a simple fix for the Luna's/NF 2-tap issue. Simply change the perk to reset per target engaged. No need to change anything else and no worries about the very rare 2-tap potential. This will also allow the weapon to remain viable in PVE for those who like to utilize it in that setting. I do acknowledge this is likely easier said than done, but it would solve the issue.

Regs the NERF.... A lot of people who moaned couldn’t get it sooo like the reddrix make a super LONG nasty grindy quest for people to get only the LUNA’s they will silence afew! Also you keep just nerfing things .. Some are very much needed BUT if you look to PC destiny 2 the Luna’s / Not forgotten are hardly used .. Ace of Spades and Last word are kings ..hmm same game same perks ask yourself WHY.. because of Bloom and recoil... Which makes people use what’s best and because of the above on console it’s Luna’s & NF!!? Another way to change peoles loadouts WITHOUT nerfing one of the hardest weapons to get is to IF your NOT going to give us NEW maps DESIGNED for 6v6 instead of crowded 4v4 maps then dear god just add all the most popular D1 medium to Large maps in the rotation .. of course people will still use the dust rocks Luna’s etc BUT on big maps U’ll have a hard time out shooting a jade rabbit or mida etc..!?? Finally the ability to chain Magnificent Howl is problematic Soooo just make it head shots ONLY and IF you hit the body OR miss it stops straight AWAY??? I don’t think the “DEVS” play this game or if so the must play on PC... you should get some of US the people who PAY for all the DLC’s n the game etc to test out your ideas NOT streamers or youtubers BUT US the casual gamers n get real time feed back not people who have to agree what the BOSS says!!!!!!! FIX the GAME give the crucible players SOMETHING to play .. you took out TRIALS , refused to add the old style trials annnd ONCE you get LUNAS what can the pvp players play?? Or PLAY for?? So they now jump into regular Quick play where the more casual PVP gamers play and get wrecked who don’t have it and because of BLOOM etc on CONSOLE let us CHOOSE which game mode we wanna play and have the rotation option in there ( you can see which is more popular for D3!?) Also give us weekly rotations of TEAM sizes eg 3v3 4v4 2v2 etc!???? Quit nerfing!!!

Now that I just got Recluse I know that what means......Nerf. I know you guys at bungie are smart. I can only assume that its cheaper and easier to nerf a gun than make larger more open -blam!-ing maps!!!! Change the maps in the rotation and the meta will change!

Please don't change NF and Luna's simply because they will be unused and simply sit on a shelf and be useless. I'm fine with the rpm change but the change to mag Howl is unnecessary and also destroys the use of the weapon in PvE because it really is a fun weapon to mess around with in pve especially with continuous double damage as long as you're hitting critical Hits

Pretty much. Its stupidity, pinnacles will be 150 that cant 2 tap where as ace can two tap with a bunch of other useful perks. And lets not forget about sturm lol.
