Fallout 1 and 2 are amazing rpg’s and I would recommend them to anybody. Sadly, I find that most modern “rpg’s” are garbage and are trying to hard to appeal to larger audiences, so if you’re looking for a good rpg older games are the way to go.

Modifié par IMADAJ : 4/18/2019 5:21:59 AMIf you want to try your hand on a RPG legacy boardgame you could try Gloomhaven. It’s also coming out on PC soon.

2 commentairesThis may be a really dumb question, but would GTAO kinda be considered an RPG? I mean, you do a bunch of different "quests" to make yourself more "powerful"

3 commentairesBanner Saga or Mutant: Year Zero. Nier: Automata is the best game you listed there in my opinion, though. That game is simply art. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is also the best rpg on the shelves.

If you like RPGs, Dark Souls is one of the best, especially in the remaster, which is available on all current gen consoles. Its difficulty is mostly exaggerated, but its quality and lore is even better than people say. Definitely worth a look. If you have a Switch, Octopath Traveller is... flawed... but still very good. Alternatively you could wait until it launches on Steam. The Dragon Quest franchise is worth looking into for all RPG fans. If you have a 3DS, you can get Dragon Quest VIII, widely considered to be one of the best games of all time. I personally wouldn't go that far, but it is excellent. If you have a 3DS or original DS, Dragon Quest IX is also available to you. I've only just started it, but it seems great so far. Also on the DS is Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. Basically a Pokémon style RPG except much better than that series. Oh, and Dragon Quest XI, the latest entry, is coming to Switch this year, and is already available on PS4. Darkest Dungeon is more of a roguelike you'll return to when you feel like a few short adventures, rather than one you're likely to actually reach the end in, but it's another great turn based RPG with a lot of cosmic and gothic horror elements. If you still have your old consoles, Baldur's Gate on PS2 was great for its time. I haven't played it since its time though, so I don't know how it holds up. And if you have the SNES mini, you have access to Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy III. I haven't got around to them yet, but they're widely praised.

2 commentairesDoesn’t look like anyone recommended Child of Light yet. I’d say that one.

3 commentairesStar Wars Knights of the Old Republic is the GOAT

3 commentairesThe Great Outdoors. It’s a VR on Steam.

2 commentairesHave you got a PS4? If so then try Horizon Zero Dawn. It’s a really good open world RPG similar in style to something like the Witcher 3. Also Assassins Creed: Odyssey is basically just The Witcher 3 in Ancient Greece. But I wouldn’t dismiss God of War. It’s without doubt the best game I’ve played in years. It’s an instant classic. Though I probably wouldn’t call it “open world”.

2 commentairesModifié par Bake8935 : 4/17/2019 6:51:55 PMCheck out Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It’s not for everyone, but if you like Skyrim it’s worth a look. It’s very hardcore and doesn’t hold your hand, but if you can get into it it’s a game unlike any other. It’s the most immersive game I’ve ever played. It makes mundane chores seem relevant and important, and not at all tedious. The combat is intense and challenging. A simple 1 on 1 sword fight is a big deal. You have to know what you’re doing and put in effort to get better. Also, I just remembered Octopath Traveler, which I’ve not seen anyone else mention. I’m not a fan typically of JRPGs, but my friend let me borrow it and I have to say it’s pretty amazing. I’m 90+ hours in and still loving the combat and world.
