Rumor has it next major Destiny release will have PvP areas on PvE patrol zones.
IMO...Worst idea ever, this game is about saving the universe, and fighting gods, I don't want to be trying to do a quest, mission, or public event while i'm getting sniped by a troll with Queensbreaker.
Edit: The rumor came from Reddit (Sorry, don't have a link) from someone called AnontheNine (probably spelled that wrong) but he made several predictions before Forsaken and all came true....
Edit #2: One Guardian pointed out it could be used for Faction Rallies, which actually doesn't sound too bad.

If they don't make players to go there, and that would be an additional pvp, won't be a problem but if in order to get gears or whatever, make them go there, thdn that would be problematic like some other games.
-
PvP should be in all zones and activities, including the tower.😯😧 If nothing else it would make the forums more entertaining to see all the delicate ❄'s™ having a meltdown.😩🙃
-
If it would take away from PvP focus then all the nerf/buff drama would be at a minimum hopefully. Another way to do it would be only certain maps or locations (not like dark zones) and give incentive to not killing others at random. It could be like public events too! If you don’t get the rally flag they can’t damage you maybe. Imagine actual faction wars as well..

I think it is fairly obvious where Bungie is going with this: We are going to become divided. I mean, the VANGUARD is going to break up. Zavala will lead the guardians who stay in the Tower and stay focused on protecting the city. Ikora will lead the guardians who abandon that mission to pursue threats beyond. I hope its akin to the Alliance/Horde system used in WoW. We will be in conflict with each other and pursuing different goals depending on our allegiance. I think this change could be a lot of fun and finally add some weight to the story Bungie is developing. Here is hoping.....

As long as they keep quests for exotics out of it, unless its like a get one kill or one match or something like that. And make it so if you do not want to do it you don't have to and you can still explore the zone without being able to be shot at.
-
This could actually work for Faction Rally's and only during Faction Rally's. Think about it. You pick a faction and then you fight other factions for loot, kills, etc., during PVP encounters in PVE areas. And let's include Gambit in this. The winning faction gets access to the prized loot and a winners emblem. This would make Faction Rally's relevant. Yes, this is hardcore and the casuals wouldn't like it. But I think Destiny's core player base would love it. In any case, probably too complicated to setup.

It depends on how the world is. If it's not MMO size and it just match makes 5 guardians into a small slice of a zone that is already half the size of a regular MMO zone then it's going to suck ballz. If they keep your names highlighted above your heads through walls and when not being directly aimed at then it'll also suck ballz. You need the ability to avoid contact with what could be a party of guardians. If the game remains with it's quick time to kill and supers it'll suck ballz. This isn't a game where you can't have a back and forth with the person who gets a drop on you. There isn't even a back and forth for when somebody doesn't get the drop on you. It'll just be people waiting for supers and heavy to roam the level. Just 1 hit killing anybody they see. They'll always have heavy ammo and probably always have supers because people will save them for players knowing the danger. If the other faction isn't recognizable it'll suck ballz. It could just end up being a failure like Age of Conan or the Dark Zone was in the Division if it's just a highly abused free for all system. If they go full on MMO i'm totally down. I think they will have a impossible to solve problem with size of the game world. Not just because they have never been able to deliver a remotely comparable world size to MMOs. But also because how fast we move. A game world is only as big as your fastest method to travel across it. Vanilla WoW was massive because you moved slow now everything feels small and meaningless because you fly over it all. Guild Wars 2 got "larger maps" with the new expansion but also crazy fast mounts. You now cross maps in 15 seconds making the entire game feel so much smaller. In Destiny sparrows and landing zones are very fast ways to travel.

There's a way for bungie to do this correctly. Look at The Division, their PvP centered normal map zone but with ability to turn on other agents. They also had this locked only to a specific area of the map, so if they add only specific areas then it would be good. They also need to have incentive, I dont see the point of making it boring chasing everyone around for blues, which is literally how everything interesting turns into. Bungie doesnt know how to loot and shoot, the lack of rewards are what ruin the game.
-
If bungie does it correctly it will be great
-
I don't agree with you because i think it will be something like Darkzone in the Division. You choose to go in to engage or you could roam around the open world without ever step in that zone. But then, the temptation to get good loot too high that you will be the bad guy without knowing.
-
Ever play dark souls? Pretty sure it would work something like that or a dark zone like in division. I’m all for it, like the drifter says “let’s be bad guys”.
-
Another whiner, let me get my popcorn 🍿
-
Modifié par Swift : 1/17/2019 1:04:54 PMit will probably be like the wilderness in runescape - you gotta go to a certain area and probably some sort of limiting factor for engagement so you cant not fight back (ie. wont let a 500 vs a 650) Plus, you can already pk other players on Mars.
-
I am guessing it will be like The Division where there are designated areas for that, like the Dark Zone.
-
I wonder what would influence pvp/friendly co-op? Aligning with a specific group perhaps... let's call them covenants! I wonder if there is be any clear Indication of friend or foe... let's give a foe a red glow, as per gambit! I wonder if we'll also be able to call for help? Perhaps someone could leave a mark on the floor that we can interact with?? This is very off topic, but destiny needs illusory walls - plus it could also benefit from some iron banner fires littered about the place; that would awesome!! I also suspect that the tower will be destroyed for good next game - if we're offering suggestions for a new social space; can we have a shrine please!!
-
Hmm, I don't know. If there was a dark zone planet or moon where the darkness had a large concentration lore wise and other guardians could invade in a Dark Souls sort of way, that could be fun. I wouldn't want it to be necessarily too central to the story but in a small dose it could be fun. I love the challenge of it in Gambit.
-
They could add a passive mode like the one in GTA
-
That would be awesome!
-
If there was a PvPvE zone around which had balance and missions specific to that area (no main story) then I think it’d be good imo
-
But if its PVP areas, so I assume that would be designated areas that aren't mandatory for you to have to enter to do things in patrol, perhaps it would still be okay for people who don't want to participate in those?
-
we don't know until we see don't you think? And I kinda doubt it would be in the game anyway.
-
i feel like it would be great if it was an option, probably one defaulted to off. or in specific areas.
-
I imagine it would probably be the same as divisions dark zone. Assuming these rumors are true I'd guess that there will still be PvE patrol zones but with an additional high level endgame area with PvP enabled.
-
Now would rumors to spread.
-
Welp looks like I wont be playing that LOL
-
They're gonna pull a division, and then the game really will be dead..
