Rumor has it next major Destiny release will have PvP areas on PvE patrol zones.
IMO...Worst idea ever, this game is about saving the universe, and fighting gods, I don't want to be trying to do a quest, mission, or public event while i'm getting sniped by a troll with Queensbreaker.
Edit: The rumor came from Reddit (Sorry, don't have a link) from someone called AnontheNine (probably spelled that wrong) but he made several predictions before Forsaken and all came true....
Edit #2: One Guardian pointed out it could be used for Faction Rallies, which actually doesn't sound too bad.

You're wrong. Do you need a carebear sever? A hug?
-
If I remember correctly onthenine (or however you spell it) said it will only be during certain events for light versus darkness
-
Cant wait to camp on my favorite bluff with my queensbreaker
-
Gg - get good
-
Just like gambit I won't try it. Hate the pvp in this game and if they wanna mix in with the pve I'll just stay out but if they do add it then good for those who will try it. One more activity for them to do.
-
No. Just no.
-
Maybe it has to do with the idea i had awhile ago for the jokers wild dlc where i said itd be sweet if we got to choose to support the drifter or shin malphur and then we had to do things faction rally style to support our chosen leader throghout the season and whoever won at the end it would impact the story of Destiny in a huge way. Feel like thatd make our individual actions have an impact on the world and make us feel more important
-
They aren’t going to make an open space where other players can impede your progress without your permission. It’ll more than likely be in the form of a factions’ actions in the area changing the experience for the opposing faction. Can you imagine the levels of toxicity in the forums if it was to happen? It’d cause an actual form of Y2K..
-
If they did it like the division it could be good
-
It will work as long as they do something similar to WoW, where you can opt in or out at the Tower, and there's a gameplay incentive to opting in.

The way to go would be to have pve and pvp servers servers that you can swap to and from.
-
If they are seriously doing this then I'm abandoning Destiny for Anthem, Warframe or anything else. This is as dumb as if BO4 zombies had Blackout and MP players just randomly dropping in to zombie matches to intentionally grief zombie players

Our gamer family will not be buying D3 until after reviews, we have learned not to pre-order from bungle after the D2 failure. That's "ten" copies bungo. -
The PVP/PVE overlap in this game is it's number one fundamental core flaw. It's been the cancer that has ruined the PVE experience. I'm calling it now. If Bungie doesn't separate PVP & PVE in D3, it will be yet another epic balance failure. As we're all painfully aware by now, the precious balance approach simply does not work. That would be sad to see.
-
Is this for real? It would totally kill the game completely, crucible needs to be separate or removed totally, the game would be a better place.
-
They already ruined the game.
-
What if it's like a self contained thing, similiar to the Division but instead of loosing everything after death or getting punished for killing another player, the whole area acts like a lawless frontier where nothing you do there counts to progression outside of that area (obviously any quests or random loot drops can still be completed/gained from that location)
-
I'm sure there will be some type of setting for those who dont wanna par take. I think gta has something similar.
-
All I’ll say is look what happened to vanilla division in the DZ... That complete mess of a game mode killed the game and never really came back from it.
-
This would quickly devolve into the troll zone for no life basement dwelling griefers.
-
ugh, that shit made me quit the division

Modifié par CannyJack : 1/17/2019 2:00:16 PMI wonder what Bungie imagines will be the “meaningful choices” for such a game mode. If you had to make permanent and irrevocable changes — like never again being able to team up with guardians not in your faction, or only being able to join a clan of “same side” guardians, or permanently losing access to certain activities, gear or exotics - then maybe it might generate a suspenseful moment or two. But if the consequence of breaking bad is loss of glimmer or an engram and an extra 15 seconds respawn while in the PvPvE Zone, it’s going to be nothing but griefers and trolls.
-
I like the idea—especially for faction rallies. If you can opt in to it like a heroic patrol area, then sign me up. Just another thing to do in the vast world of Destiny options.
-
Agh.. i hope bungie doesnt do something that stupid. Id avoid those areas like the plague.

Guardians of light and/or darkness on an Endgame pve/pvp planet. Make it part of the endgame not a section of a patrol
