The link shared is a simple tutorial on how to log into your router to change your IP Address in case you ever find yourself being DDOSed and held offline by some skid. Unfortunately, this method will NOT prevent a DDOS from occurring in the first place, as it does not mask your address. This is only meant to be used for quicker recovery from an attack, especially if you have a weak network that struggles to reconnect to the internet after being flooded. The two routers this applies to are Netgear routers (any of them really) and Actiontec routers from FiOS. Similar steps would be taken with other routers as well, just take your time exploring their software, or use Google.
