Deliberate Gambit sabotages
I recently played a match of gambit with a clan mate. Everything was running smoothly until one of the match made team mates on our side ran face first into an invaders rocket. From that point on he dawdled about, deliberately shooting enemies and leaving the motes. Needless to say despite our best efforts we lost. After the match I sent a message of one word (pathetic) to this player. His response was disrespectful and dismissive. Saying we were useless so he had given up. He banked 10 motes, lost 20 and did nothing. He blocked me, so to refute his nonsense I took to bungie.net and made the mistake of using the word "idiot". I told him to look at the stats. No sweat words, nor ridicule. I have received a 7 day message ban for disrespect. This player has been reported by myself and my clan mate for in game sabotage and disrespect but u get a ban? Wow

1 commentaireBottom line? You can only control you. When you let other people's behavior dictate your own, you lose control of the situation. Had you simply asked him why he seemed to stop playing, his admission would have been sufficient to get him whatever penalty was due him, but it's possible that because of your own behavior, your claim was taken less seriously than it otherwise might have been. Literally every single time I've lowered myself to insults, insinuation or name calling, I've regretted it. We all hope to see less and less of this sort of thing in our lives, but when we see it, it's our choice how to respond. Good luck man.

6 commentairesDoesn't matter what he did in game. Technically he broke no rules but was just a grief player. (Which is reportable but maybe not bannable. You on the other hand violated the CoC by insulting him on the boards. No matter how 'small' it was. Next time control your words, you'll be a better person for it.
