So, after seeing some of the datamined content, like audio recordings from Amanda Holliday (I think), implying that we are going to the cosmodrome to investigate Master Ives death and the leak implying that Thunderlord is returning, I came up with two theories:
We go to the cosmodrome to investigate Master Ives death. While there, we encounter the Scorn and discover that a important Scorn member killed Master Ives. The important Scorn member is actually Riksis, Devil Archon, and the ones that have played D1 might remember him. He is the one of the many poor Fallen that we killed in the cosmodrome (We all remember you, Randal) and was the boss of the Restoration mission. But, before destiny even came out, there was a destiny demo that was shown off by bungie, and Riksis was the boss that they showed off. He was called Rixis, the Archon Slayer, and upon killing him in the demo, he dropped the Thunderlord. So, if you read everything above and didn’t leave this post, here is what I have in mind: We killed Riksis, he was revived by the Fanatic (Who I would call Riksis, Scorned Archon), he killed Master Ives, we kill him, he drops an exotic engram, we get the Thunderlord from it. Might be overthinking it, but it’s possible.
But a factor is that, as we’ve seen in Rise of Iron, the cosmodrome is pretty busted up, as the Devil Splicers cut that part of the wall, put SIVA on everywhere, gained new abilities and started blasting everything. So, that might imply that the Devil Splicers are returning. So then, and please don’t leave, all of this results on one of these 5 situations:
1) Riksis was revived by SIVA like the Iron Lords on the Rise of Iron last mission and killed Master Ives (Splicers are returning).
2) Riksis isn’t affected by SIVA and is actually part of the Scorn and SIVA is all gone (No Devil Splicers).
3) Riksis is affected by both SIVA and the Scorn, as if he is part of the Scorn but SIVA is in the cosmodrome (Splicers are returning).
4) Riksis isn’t involved, but we are still going to the cosmodrome to hunt someone/something else (Splicers might be involved).
5) We aren’t going to the cosmodrome and this whole theory was pointless (Nothing).
If you found this interesting, I plan on making more theories and speculations in the future.
Edit: Well, Bungie missed the chance, it was option 4

3 commentairesThe trickster killed Ives. The Trickster lives on!!
-
2 commentairesI killed Master Ives.. did you see the terrible decrypts he was giving me.. honestly I think he kept the good stuff for himself and sold it on the black market..
-
4 commentairesNah... We all know that Master Ives was killed by the famous SYLOK, THE DEFILED. SYLOK escaped the prison and was seeking fame and fortune. He found a couple of Legendary Engrams after his escape and needed Ives to decrypt. All engrams decrypted into Edge Transit so SYLOK killed Ives because he was pissed. Murder mystery: SOLVED!

1 commentaireI hope SIVA returns. It was so cool to look at and the lore was pretty interesting. If it is Riksis, I'll be pretty happy. If he is part of the Scorn, depends. If he is infected by SIVA, cool, but, if he is a Scorn infected by SIVA, that would be interesting.

1 commentaireModifié par snout-finger : 10/30/2018 12:28:41 PMPretty sure it won't drop from an anagram but will initiate a quest. Most likely requiring some bullshit PVP. Or an engram even...damned auto correct.

1 commentaireI think it was the Colonel...grief and anger can change a chicken
-
3 commentairesI think it was Tess. She saw that the Thunderlord was making a return and killed Ives so she could steal the ornament for it and sell it in her shop for $10 a pop.
-
1 commentaireDefiantly the sweeper bot who had his broom stolen last year.
-
7 commentairesIT WAS SWEEPER BOT!!

3 commentairesYes, definitely Riksis. But I'm still going to frame Rahool to get him executed.
-
1 commentaireBut...Randal
-
3 commentairesI have good memories running that mission at max level with exotics to see just how powerful my character got.
-
2 commentairesFunnily enough one of the ornaments for the thunderlord looks all sivaesque and shit.
-
4 commentairesSo we get the exotic the easiest way possible?
-
3 commentairesPutting all this together is impressive, well done. I like the idea of the same boss from the demo dropping Thunderlord.

2 commentairesModifié par Dark Raven 2501 : 10/29/2018 1:02:45 PMGot one better we go to the cosmodrome only to find a stupid white horse that leads us to master rahool which sitting back and smoking pot while surrounded by exotic engrams that he has been hoarding from us. Poor master Ives found this out and was kill for it

Just like the 2014 E3 reveal, sounds pretty awesome

2 commentairesI'm holding out hope that it's Randal. No one can change my mind.

I think that devil splicers and Scorn are really similar variations on a theme. We don't really need two different types of modified Fallen. So I have my doubts about SIVA returning, but of course it's possible. As for the rest of it, we'll know in about a day.

1 commentaireHonestly I'd love them to just dump the entire Cosmodrome in the game it might pull me away from red dead for a few hours
-
1 commentaireThe truth is it was actually
SYLOK, THE DEFILED!
-
2 commentairesOr a guardian got one too many edge transits
-
3 commentairesDevrin killed him and ate him.
-
1 commentaireAh but you need to kill Ricky 500 times wearing a Tess mask for a 0.00001% chance for Thunderlord to maybe drop on a day of the week with an ‘i’ in it...nerfed gun too...
-
2 commentairesI,ve been around the place and have seen many theorys. The one I believe is this: - We kill him The end.

Thanks for the all of the upvotes, people! You really liked this post, so I would like to point out that I made other theories and lore explanations and stories that you could check out
