The community in a nutshell
“We want weapons to be unique and strong!” [i]gives Vigilance wing and graviton buffs.[/i]
“Oh my god, Bungie! They are broken! Nerf these things!” You can’t have it both ways. Exotics are meant to be ridiculous and strong. They’re supposed to be better than all other weapons. That’s why they’re the highest tier of weaponry/armour. Instead of screeching for nerfs to weapons, ask for other weapons to be [i]buffed[/i] instead.

1 commentaireExotic just means unique (for pvp), not "omfg I have an exotic let's go keel every f***ing player" so atleast in PvP they should have kill times that are similar to everything else, if not slightly better(if your accurate).

You make it sound like it is the same group of people saying both of these things. However it is not. The group asking for weapon buffs are mainly PvE players and some PvP players who dont care for a balance multiplayer experience. The people asking for nerfs are mainly PvP players that like the over balance and more bland gameplay that destiny 2 started with, they are the same group who was begging for nerfs all throughout destiny 1. Basically the group that is complaining on the forums changes depending on whether or not the weapons are overly balanced or not.

I think it is instinctive to ask for a nerf because we all know it takes months to get a balance buff out of bungie.

You know, the argument in D1 was that exotics were exotic not because of power but because they did something unusual or unique, like with Invective and Ice Breaker regenerating ammo, or SGA refunding missed shots and reloading on hits.

People didn’t want only 2 guns to be powerful. However, it might be only 1 powerful gun soon because VW is being seen less and less now.

9 commentairesI mean. V-Wing and G-Lance, are OP.....In comparison to other weapons. Two guns with such a low TTK, over the multiple guns with high TTK guns, make a very dominant meta.

2 commentairesHonestly, that was easily the worst part of D1. It was made from the ground up for the buffed insanity of ability spamming and op weapons across the board. Some tweaks were necessary but that isn't what we got. We got the nerfpocalypse. This time around the engine is clearly aimed more towards competitive gunfights as opposed to space wizards duking it out with magic. The way I see it the bungo gods are trying to avoid a second nerfpocalypse by preemptively making the game more subdued from the get go. That way, buffs and nerfs are less of a glaring change and more of a refined tweak; taking the power away from the nerf herders. I greatly prefer year one Destiny to anything we've gotten so far out of both games in terms of pvp but D2 is looking to be a much better experience in the long run.

Bungie is encouraging the use of these new weapons. I doubt there's nerfs incoming. 600 Pulse Rifle kills for an Ornament. 250 Vigilance Wing kills for the Catalyst.... I always wonder why the people calling for nerfs don't grab one and use it. No one's going to think you're a scrub on crutches.

This is how it went with D1 for 3 years - the community complains, Bungie adjusts, and the community complains. If it was me, after a month of listening to this shitshow of a community, I would have made everything a 1 hit kill, and every time someone died in any activity they would have got my middle finger on their screen for a full 15 seconds.
